  1. Nice job and nice cause. I take it your Church is United Methodist?
  2. That is a beaut.
  3. A good light to illuminate the work on the scroll saw table. Magnifier may or may not be necessary but the light is essential.
  4. Bein q full-time wheelchair user with limited leg motion and no foot motion, I can't use a foot switch. Switch on front of scrollsaw works okay for me.
  5. Great job.
  6. That is beautiful work.
  7. Where's your Scroll Saw??
  8. On tiny bits like that I use a pin vise and drill by hand. Start with just 1/4" of the bit sticking out of the pin vise and drill till the pin vise jaws meet the work piece, then pull the drill bit out of the hole (VERY gently) and extend the drill bit another 1/4" and extend the depth of the hole. In twoor three goes, the hole is through. A little picky but generally the drill bit survives the encounter. Pin vises, laddy - that's the ticket.
  9. Sorry you're having this hassle.
  10. Good luck.
  11. Nice "Digs" for the Hedgehog. S/he will be in (Hedge)Hog Heaven
  12. Gotta agree with the Gordster. All are great but the barber one is the pick of the litter.
  13. You could use a car mug which would keep your beverage of choice free from sawdust You would have to wipe off the top of the cup from time-to-time.
  14. I take it you cut if to fit over the table and glued it in place?
  15. I did very well in speling (won several "spelling bees") but every elementary school report card always had the remark "Ernest's penmanship is atrociious". This continued for most of my adult life In 1998 I ended up on a Ventilator with a Trach tube in my throat for over four Months and couldn't talk so I had to write notes to Doctors, Nurses, Repiratory Therapists etc. My writing (printing) improved greatly. LOL
  16. IF you decide to buy an inexpensive saw to see if you like scrolling I'd suggest not buying a Harbor Freight. In this case, I'd suggest you look at Ryobi or Craftsman rather than Harbor Freight I know - sounds like I'm knocking Harbor Freight but I have a Harbor Freight lathe that works very well for me. My issue with the Harbor Freight Scroll Saw is that it takes an adapter to use pinless blades and that makes blade changing awkward and that would sour anybody against scrolling - unless you only want to use pinned blades which severely limits blade selection. The Ryobi takes pinless blades without any adapter so that is more convenient. I have a Ryobi and it works pretty well for me. I've read some good things about the Craftsman so that's another inexpensive one to consider. Not against Harbor Freight tools in the whole but just the scroll saw because of the blade issue. BTW - there is an aftermarket "fix" for the Harbor Freight as far as pinless blades but that costs you I think about $40.00 for the kit so it's about as cheap to get a Crafstman or Ryobi. Just my "two cents worth". Welcome to the Village!
  17. Gorgeous.
  18. We had one like this in 5th grade woodshop sixty years ago. In my class I was the only one who used it.
  19. Wonderful job. I'm sure they'll be thrilled.
  20. Beautiful Work I hate to admit that since the subject matter is Ohio State and I'm a Michigan fan but gotta give you "props" for a great job
  21. That is gorgeous.
  22. Great Work!
  23. I went to the "Foot of the Cross" FB Page. Lots of nice crosses there. I found a picture of the "Survivor cross" but did not find the pattern. Couple of patterns of other crosses but I didn't find that one. I also saw a picture of an "RN Cross" but again didn't find the pattern.
  24. Beautiful. What a wonderful idea.
  25. A Beautiful Memorial to your Brother. Great patternfrm DonR, executed wondefully by you.
