  1. Larry, I love what you did. The performance curve that is Just kidding. Great job. This inspires me to do the same. I have a digital anemometer but I am not sure how to test manually test static pressure. I think, experimenting is half the battle. who needs all this tech stuff wjen you see where the dust is going Thank you for sharing Sam

  9. Len, Now you tell me about the "detail sander" I just bought the dewalt variable speed orbital sander. I haven't used it yet. Should I take it back and get the detail sander you are talking about? Thanks Sam
  10. I ended up buying the Dewalt Variable speed ($79) I haven't tried it yet. I have too many project besides scorllsawing :( Thank you all
  11. I bought a USED GREAT IN SHAPE one of those about a month ago. Not because I wanted to buy used, ONLY because stupid Calif laws don't allow any filtering system to enter our CLEAN STATE. How do you like that? I checked all these box filter systems which you hang from the ceiling and EVERY co. says they would not ship to Calif. Actually it says that in bold letters right under their product. This is SOOOOO frustrating. By the way I like it BUT I always wear a mask (the 3M ones with pink cartridges) Sam
  12. Thank you I appreciate your reply. Sam
  13. This is for the pros. How can we contact Travis? My Feb 19 post about Vintage cars still show that there were no views. I just added a reply to the last post but it is still low in the list and shows 0 views. Would someone tell me if they see the same thing? Thank you sam
  14. I think you should drive there and look at it. like the folks said, take some wood and try it. Just to make sure that there is nothing major wrong. sounds like a steal if it is in a good shape. Again, there is no 18" EX. I have the 16". Good luck Sam

  19. thank you all for the reply /comments. Now you got me concerned about chemicals in addition to the dust. I will think twice about sanding/planning these Chinese crates Thanks to all
  20. Hello Group, So I can get free discarded pallets and crates from my job. A lot of these crates come from china and somtimes the wood looks like it is from some nice type of wood (no idea what type). The wood of the crates is about 3/8" X 3" wide very roughly cut. My question is: is it worth buying a low end thickness planer to smooth that wood to about 1/4" of so? Of course I will have to spend time outside of the work hours to dismantle these pallets and creates. The only planer I have used was a Sears low end one and not a thickness planer. If you think this is worth doing, my next question would be what type of planer? Thank you all
