  1. Today I taught my daughter how to use my scroll ... Since the new Feinschnitt magazine included a pattern for a dinosaur landscape, she really wanted that for her sons. I told her to do it herself.... Big mistake: so now I am going to have to compete using my machine, I bet! Here are her first attempts.

  12. Purple Heart Bowl... Took a while. Despaired while sanding... quite a learning curve. Know what I would do differently next time. Not sure there will be a next time.
  13. This was months in the making - but here we are:
  14. I think it looks fantastic. (and I am jealous, because I have not managed to figure out how to do this yet - lack of time being one of the reasons..., lack of skill the other).
  15. This looks fantastic. Also love the wood color and the directionality of the grain! Fabulous!
  16. Love the flowers, but I am not a fan of the background. It is almost blinding, if you don't mind my saying so. Personally, I prefer to let the wood shine, rather than the background. No hard feelings I hope? I truly love the roses!

  18. Gorgeous! How many hours did you need to make this?

  21. Purpleheart!
  22. So yesterday I cut purpleheart with Pegas Modified Geometry #5 reverse tooth blade and my cuts were burning terribly. Then I remembered that I had bought theLP-Lube Stick at Lesley's Patterns. And let me tell you, after putting that on the blade, it cut through the purple heart almost like it was butter. No more burn, no more effort. http://www.scrollsawbladespatterns.com/scrollsaw_accessories.htm I repeated the process several times and the blades lasted a lot longer too!
