  3. Thanks guys! Absolutely! All over, although I bet not as bad as when turning.
  4. My first attempt at designing - Maybe one day I will be as good as Sue Mey. It looked mighty fine on paper. But cut, I am not so sure any more. Padauk - untreated as of yet. I need to get a dipping pan for the linseed oil. Note: I feel you can't see the forest for the trees or the Letters for the decorations. What do you think? Honest replies appreciated. It should read "Frohe Weihnachten" Note 2: The Forum turned the picture again - I swear I photographed it upright.
  5. Thanks, friends! about 7 hours of cutting Probably with boiled linseed oil - that's all I have.

  9. After seeing the stuff I have been making on facebook, a friend of mine in California got herself an excalibur from seyco. Never unpacked it though. Now she is looking to sell. If anybody is interested I can give them her email address.
  10. The Illustrated Book "Cry Heart, But Never Break" helps talk with children about losing loved ones and grief. Inspired by its title, I made these hearts. Cherry and Cherry with Padauk.

  12. Thank you - it's very hard. I needed 4 or 5 (can't remember) blades for this little bit of cutting. I found the picture on pinterest and turned it into a pattern. I searched high and low to find the designer. Be happy to pay them for their efforts. Monti
  13. Padauk 3/4 inch
  14. I gave my Dewalt back to Dewalt and got an Ex21 instead. Have not regretted it once!
  15. Thanks for the info. I am just so uncomfortable with the chemical side of it and the combustible nature of the stuff. And how do I get that into the nooks and crannies? with a brush? or dunk the piece? I have been using mineral oil which incidentally left an oil stain on my mother's wallpaper...
  16. Where do I get lemon oil - I have been wondering for a while.
  17. It's about 10 inches in diameter
  18. The excalibur is being sold as a Pegas in Germany / Europe now. Maybe they are changing brand names?
  19. It's red oak, Marg. Thanks everybody!
  20. thanks guys. It is unfinished at this point. I like the wood to talk - my daughter thinks maybe paint it. I think that would be a pity. So we wait and see who prevails.
