    Dewalt has a year warranty. They replaced mine at N/C after wearing it out in 9 months. My second one is about 6 months old and showing wear. I will buy something heavier duty.

    The ideas on this thread have been fantastic. Thanks to all of you. I will be trying a few. I love trying new ideas. A year ago I made this original plaque. My customer put it under a covered porch. When I originally sold it to them I told them that my plaques were not designed for outside. At the time I made it I was experimenting with a lot of different finishes so I have no idea what I used on it. Last weekend they brought it back to me asking if there was anything I could do with it to make it look better. I love to try to satisfy my customers. I decided that I would try a synthetic deck product that I bought at Lowe's to remake it. It cut fine except it was super hard on blades. It doesn't real clean. Cut edges left a bit fuzzy. The material came in 11" x 96" x 3/4" I hate how the "2" came out. I sure messed it up but I am not going to remake it for that.

    That is one cool box. I stain a lot of my projects because I find a lot of my customers prefer darker wood. I would use darker wood except for the fact that I have been buying oak for under $2 a board foot.

    Your correct. I set it at 4 degrees using a #5 blade. I plane the back of the recessed piece so I can put a backer over the whole thing.

    I stay very busy making things for other people.....either to sell or give away. Occasionally I make something for us. This is also a good project for me to take to the Farmers Market to show a personalized project. Made of red oak stained Special Walnut.
