  12. Thank you Neptun (Sasho) for the cool pattern. I thought the message would be fitting. I made it plenty big so it would be easy to cut. Plaque measures 14" in diameter. dave
  13. I put together a couple clip arts and came up with this simple plaque for the for those golf lovers. Measures 9" x 11". I used 1/4" mdf with 1/2" Baltic Birch backer. Why does photo load sideways? dave

  20. Fir plywood sure doesn't stain very well but should look good painted. dave
  21. Ralph, I use inkscape ant gimp. Travis has put together great videos to learn them. I'm a slow learner so I have had to watch them multiple times. A lot of guys on this site are much better than I ever expect to be but that doesn't discourage me. dave
  22. Great story. dave
  23. You sure are keeping busy Kevin. Ralph, Yours look good also. dave
  24. Ralph, On the boxes I put a piece of cherry on top of the maple and cut through at about 2 1/2 degree angle and cut the image in. I glue that in and then lay a piece of walnut on top of that and cut my lettering in. The biggest trick is making sure you glue it in well so when you do your second inlay little pieces of the first don't fall out. I use double faced scotch tape when I stack the two pieces together for cutting. I'm thinking when Jim Finn does his he uses a hot glue gun. I don't have one so I have never tried that. In my oppinion the thicker the wood the harder it is to get a good job. dave
  25. Ralph, If I can make patterns so can you. All you have to do is want to. All the tools you need are at your fingertips. Thanks to Travis and all of you helpful guys. I must admit, it takes a lot of time. I would rather mess around working on patterns than turn on the TV. dave
