    Finished my first plaque in Mahogany today. I am pretty pleased with the outcome, The imperfections don't show up too bad. When I was cutting it I was struggling with the softness. I had't cut anything this soft. While I was cutting it didn't look too great from the back but after I finished it I was pleased. dave

    Thank you for all the comments. I used it today and used the max tension that the saw has. Seemed to work better. I was surprised that a #1 blade did not break on max. dave

    Scott, I bought it as Mahogany and it is a reddish brown. It does cut very easy...I guess everything else I have cut has been harder wood and seems to come out soo much smoother. dave

    I am new to scrolling and today was the first time cutting Mahogany. I planed it to 1/2" thick. Seems to me that the cut edges were quite rough and needs quit a bit of sanding. I had a tough time trying to cut straight. dave

    I have a new Dewalt scroll saw and I am also new to scrolling. I was cutting some 1/2" mahogany today and when I cut a right angle corner it seems like it makes a lot of noise. It is the same type of noise it makes if I don't put tension on the blade. Is this normal? dave
