  1. Welcome to the forum from TN. As mentioned, we like pictures.
  2. Very well done, Dave. A work of art.
  3. Thanks for all the nice comments.
  4. You got a great saw, Iggy.
  5. Very well done.
  6. Hey Don, you need to stop at ArtCrafters. My wife is into card making and she has card stock on most any color.
  7. Lots of good ideas. Thanks.
  8. I buy the Shellac and alcohol in cans by the quart and mix 50%.
  9. That is my go to process. I call it a sanding sealer using Shellac diluted 50% with denatured alcohol. On puzzle pieces, after a dip and dry, buff with a Mac Mop and a second dip and dry.
  10. Thanks Rob. Thimbles would work great. The selves are between 1 3/4" to 2 1/4" high.
  11. I keep the good pattern side to the left of the blade and cut pushing the wood counter clockwise. I guess this makes the blade go clockwise.
  12. I used the 50% BLO and Mineral Spirits for dipping. I now use 50% Shellac and Denatured Alcohol.
  13. I bought my Mac Mop from Klingspor. 240 grit and it was complete with the spindle for about $40.
  14. Thanks for the comments. Any ideas what might be displayed on the shelf?
  15. I finished this project this weekend. The pattern is by Sue Mey and found in CWWC August 2013. I wanted to make this project for some time, but didn't have the right wood. I used 1 1/4" Maple discarded by the local La-Z-Boy chair manufacturer. The trim is 1/8" Walnut and the backing is Red Oak plywood. I used FD Polar #9 blades and finished with spray Shellac. Ideal for displaying small items. Any ideas? Comments welcome.
  16. Welcome to the forum from Tennessee. The owl is a beautiful work of art.
  17. Welcome to the forum. As said, show some of your work.
  18. Thanks for all the nice comments. I am not sure if I will use this process again.
  19. Welcome to the forum. Sorry, I have no experience with that saw.
  20. Thanks Don. The shape is unusual.
  21. Thanks DW. The Western Red Cedar does look pretty.
  22. Thanks Randy. I made several of Carole Rothman's bowls, but this is a different process.
  23. I finished the 'Wonder Bowl' found in SWWC Fall 2017 issue #68. The pattern is by Dave Van Ess. There are several bowl making changes, most dramatic is no drilling. I used 5/8" Western Red Cedar and FD Polar #3 blades. The finish is spray Shellac. Comments welcome.
  24. Thanks Alex. I also captured the pattern.
  25. It was a great time several years ago at the SWWC Event meeting you, Carole, Judy and others on the forum. Too bad there isn't another, but I understand the time and cost involved.
