  1. Back in January, I made an Air Plant Holder. Last week a customer of ArtCrafters bought the item. Today she sent me a picture showing the holder filled with air plants. Nice to see an item in use.
  2. Thanks Melanie. Glad to help if you decide to make these.
  3. Thanks Melanie. Stop by the store sometime.
  4. Thanks all for the nice comments.
  5. Thanks Steve. They are fun and easy to make.
  6. Frank, I don't think there are any compound cut Miniature Birdhouse Ornaments in the library. My first set came from a magazine, CWWC May 2011.
  7. Thanks Paul. I think my favorite is the butterfly.
  8. Thanks Jim. I made some without feathers some time back. The feathers really add to the presentation.
  9. Thanks Jim. Maybe use something different than Eastern White Cedar next time.
  10. Thanks Roly. The birds are always cut from scraps. The birdhouses whatever I have in stock.
  11. Thanks Roly. Using the spiral blades and stack cutting the feathers made the cutting easy.
  12. I finished four of these this weekend. The patterns are by Diana Thompson and purchased from her website. I used Eastern White Cedar and Eastern Red Cedar. I found that the Eastern White Cedar was a little too soft. I used FD Polar #5 and #9 blades. This finish was two dips in sanding sealer. I have now made over 200 of these. Comments welcome.
  13. A project finished this weekend. The pattern is by Sue Mey and purchased from her website. I used 1/2" Ash for the dream catcher and 1/16" Flame Maple and Walnut for the feathers. It is PPROXIMATELY 8" X 20". The blades used were FD Ur #1, #3, and New Spiral #2/0. There was one coat of sanding sealer and two coats of spray Shellac. I like working with Ash. The feathers were stack cut. Comments welcome.
  14. The Midwest Scroll Saw & Woodworking Trade Show is set for August 18th and 19th. At least that is what the add says in the current SWWC.

  16. Welcome to the forum from Tennessee. Scrolling with salvaged wood is great. I have a custom furniture maker behind our store and I get lots of small pieces perfect for scrolling.
