  1. Thanks, Dan. I questioned using red, but it does stand out.
  2. My wife's step sister and husband are celebrating their 50th anniversary. I thought this would make a great gift. The pattern is by Sue Mey and purchased from her website. I used 1/4" Cherry plywood and backed it with 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood staind red with Samen stain. It is approximately 9" in diameter. The blades were FD New Spiral #3/0 and UR #1. The finish is one coat of sanding sealer and one coat of spray Shellac. Using the water based Samen stain eliminated the gluing problem. Comments welcome.
  3. Welcome to the forum from TN. Lots of friendly folks here.
  4. A wonderful puzzle. Lots of time and talent in that one.
  5. Well done, Steve on a very challenging pattern.
  6. The only problem with deviating on straight lines and circles, it really shows.
  7. Very nice, Jerry. Adding color really shines.
  8. Yes, Don, we pay 9.75% sales tax, but we do not have an income tax. There are other benefits like truck license. In MN I paid $250 per year. Here in TN only $25.
  9. Thanks for all the nice comments and bringing back old memories.
  10. Thanks Melanie. I asked many customers ad very few remember these characters. It is a memory maker for us old guys.
  11. Thanks Don I forgot about Windy. I remember 'California Carlson'.
  12. Both cutting and painting are right on. Are there Chickadees in Australia?
  13. Looks very good, Thomas. Nice recovery on the 'd'.
  14. Thanks Bob. I love the old westerns too!
  15. Thanks Tim. Should fit right in with you cowpokes.
  16. Thanks Don for the great pattern. I wonder if Hoppy and Gabby ever worked together.
  17. Thanks Jerry. And yes I am OLD.
  18. Thanks DW. Not sure what is next. This one took five hours to cut.
  19. Thanks Steve. It takes old timers to recognize them. A women in her fifties had no idea.
  20. Thanks Frank. The pattern was fragile even after enlarging it by 20%.
  21. This pattern is by DonR, Don Robinson, and purchased from his site. I used 1/4" Baltic Birch plywood, 11" x 14" and backed with black mat board. I enlarged the pattern by 20% and even at that size it was fragile. To protect it, I used plastic Acrylic when framing. For cutting, I used FD New Spiral #3/0. This is the first time I used this size and I really like them. The finish is one coat of sanding sealer and two coats of spray shellac. Of course, I framed it at ArtCrafters. Comments welcome.
  22. That is a real difficult pattern. Nice job.
  23. I hope you do well in the show.
  24. Well done one you first. That was a tough one for a first project. As mentioned, keep your first project. You can look back and see the progress.
  25. Nice projects, Kevin.
