  1. Thanks Gordie. I previously used Samen stain an water based stain recommended by Sheila Landry. I will go back to the old faithful.
  2. Thanks, DW. I know of one too. We have a coffee bar and lots of friends at ArtCrafters.
  3. Well done, Jerry. I have the same questions as Dan.
  4. Thanks Dan. I agree, I leave it to the pros. I really like their designs.
  5. Thanks Steve. I had two other projects which I sprayed the backing with black paint. I let them dry and glued, well the glue didn't hold and now I have a mess.
  6. Thanks Francisco. I found that lots of practice pays dividends.
  7. Thanks Frank. Crisp straight lines are important, so I used two blades in the process.
  8. I made this yesterday, March 20th. The pattern is by Keith Fenton and purchased from Sheila Landry's website. I used 1/2" Red Oak approximately 5 1/2" x 15" without a backing. The blades used were FD Polar #3. The finish was one coat sanding sealer and two coats of spray Shellac. A rather easy project with a nice message. Comments welcome.

  14. I didn't realize how worn the old Mac Mop was until I got the new one. That is almost ten years of sanding on almost every project. A great investment.

  16. Very well done, Dick.
  17. I purchase all wood from Ocooch. A word about their service. I purchased 3/4" Eastern Red Cedar 8" x 24" which I needed for an intarsia project. The board came with 2/3 white. I emailed and within a week received a beautiful board at no cost including shipping. I call that very good service.

  23. Well done on the first project. Someone told me to keep my first project and later you can see the progress. I still have my first ornament.
  24. Great job of gluing the Oak. Nice clean straight cuts. Well done.
