    I dip whenever possible. Miniature Birdhouses in a jar, others in a pie tin or baking pan. After two days a coat of spray shellac.

    Wayne, there was no indication before the break. Scrolling fine and all of a sudden the top blade holder went limp.

    Sloans is a good source. I order mine from Ocooch Hardwoods.

    Scott, there is a screw and nut connection on the upper arm between the blade holder assembly and the arm. The screw actually sheared off. The replacement eliminated this connection making the arms a complete unit. Hope this explains the problem.

    Having both a DeWalt and an EX21, I top feed. I find no problem feeding the blade from the top.

    My EX 21 broke down about two weeks ago. I called Ray and a modified replacement was shipped. Installed last Sunday and works great. Ray said that the part that broke was a common occurrence.

    That is a wonderful bowl, Roly. I am now making a simple one from the Steve Good site, but lining up is the trick. Yours looks perfect.
