  1. Question #1 I dilute with denatured alcohol 50%. Looks like Don answered your second question.
  2. Thanks Roly
  3. Thanks Barb. I wonder what it would be like to cut as a coaster!
  4. Thanks Bob. I picked one of the easier ones in his book.
  5. Thanks. A fun one to cut.
  6. Normally I would use a #3R MGT blade, but I wanted to see how the #1R MGT blade performed. I went through three blades on this project.
  7. I stock many sizes, but not all. I have Mascot #60, #63, and #68 on closeout at $5.08 per tube of 10.
  8. Heart Coaster finished Monday, August 22, 2022. The pattern is by Charles Hand and found in the book "Circular Scroll Saw Designs". I enlarged the pattern so that it is a trivet or wall hanger. I used 3/4" Hard Maple about 8" x 8". Cut on the Pegas scroll saw using Pegas #1R MGT blades. I used #1R MGT blades to see how they would cut 3/4" Hard Maple. Very impressed. After sanding with a Mac Mop, dipped in diluted Shellac and lightly sanded again. Two coats of MinWax Lacquer clear gloss. Comments welcome.
  9. Border Collie and Sheep finished Monday, August 22, 2022. The pattern is by Jaeheon Yun and found in the book "20 Minute Scroll Saw Puzzles". I used 3/4" Poplar about 8" x 12". Cut on the Pegas scroll saw using Pegas #5R MGT blades. After sanding with a Mac Mop, dipped in diluted Shellac and lightly sanded again. Comments welcome.
  10. Hi Dave. I received an email from Ocooch Hardwoods that they now have stock. A 1/8" 12" x 12" is $1.68 plus shipping. Nt sure how this compares. I use Ocooch all the time.
  11. I also use the Mac Mop on almost every project. This is the one I use, and I notice it is on sale. Klingspor Abrasives Spindle Mounted Mac Mop, 80 Grit 7"x 2"x 1/4" Spindle (woodworkingshop.com)
  12. For the first, looks real good. A suggestion, keep your first project in your shop and watch your progress as you scroll through life.
  13. Most of us can repair a scroll saw, so it would be a good deal if the parts were free.
  14. Not sure if this is the final word, but I did get a response from Grobet. They said ,"We currently have 7 Refurbished 21" Pegas Saws available. These units are out of warranty but may be sent in for parts and repair. They have been refurbished at Grobet." I asked what they mean by "may be sent in for parts and repair". Their response is "The units will not be covered by any warranty but the parts may be purchased and the repair paid for." So it sounds like if the unit needs to be repaired, you pay for the parts, but the service is free. I am not sure if I would participate in this offer.
  15. Look at Kevin's post above. I copied it and sent a copy to Grobet.
  16. Yes, I didn't read "cheaper". That would make the saws around $740, but with no warrantee, not sure about the value. I also emailed Grobet with no response yet.
  17. If I was to sell my demo Pegas Scroll Saw, it would be more than $200. More like $450.
  18. This is the first I heard about refurbished Pegas Scroll Saws. I will check with Grobet, but my guess is something Bearwood may be doing.
  19. Welcome to the Village form from TN. As mentioned, show pictures.
  20. Thanks RJ
  21. Thanks Don.
  22. Thanks Dave.
  23. Thanks Rodney. The wood was easy to cut.
  24. Thanks Frank. The base is screwed onto the upright. I left some of the frets off the lower part so that I could screw onto the base.
  25. Thanks Paul. I really like the patterns by Jacob Fowler.
