  1. Nice Job.
  2. Great looking sign!
  3. I've used Behlen's Solar Lux wood stains with great success. They have a wide variety of colors and don't raise the grain like some others do. They are about $15.00 a bottle, so are definitely more expensive than some other options.
  4. Well Done. Looks great.

  7. Wow. Looks great!
  8. A plywood backing board would help a lot. One thing is as you do more, you learn how to hide breaks and mistakes. For the most part, if you don't point it out, no one will ever know. But where long term stability is a concern, think about the material you're using. While regular wood looks great, they can be more fragile due to the grain patterns and directions. Most scrollers use thin plywoods, seems like Baltic birch is a favorite, for delicate fretwork because it's more stable than most natural woods.
  9. Finished this up for the local Alumni fundraiser coming up. Used Oak and BB Ply, dyed red with Behlen's Solar Lux stain, covered with a poly finish. I believe the helmet pattern is by Steve Wilson.
  10. Pretty Wood. Marg, "What Would Jesus Do"
  11. There's nothing wrong with solid coloring, but to me, its boring. The variations are what make each piece unique.
  12. Thanks for the info. I've had the Jet for about a month now. Haven't used it a ton, but haven't had that problem, yet. I didn't have to adjust the upper clamp at all. Worked great straight out of the box. Only issue I have is if I get in a big hurry, I've had the blade out of proper alignment with the clamp and it doesn't catch it. But like I said, that's only if I'm not paying proper attention. And I would agree that this saw is NOT for the top feeding crowd. I don't do that, so upper clamp has really impressed me with how it clamps and tensions the blade all at once. My old Delta sure didn't do that. So far I'm really enjoying the JET.
  13. Great Job! Nice cutting on both!

  19. Great Job! Nice cutting.
  20. Someone once posted about using old business cards. I started using them on my old Delta, and they were great. I just used packing tape to secure them. With my jet, like the Excalibur, all the little holes cover a pattern much bigger than a normal business card. Last night I cut an old birthday card in half and taped it down. Seems to be working so far.
