  1. They look great. Nice smooth lines. Good job!
  2. Great job! They all look stunning. I really like the border on the Rancho Verda one.
  3. Great Job!
  4. This was recently posted to the "Intarsia Nuts" page on Facebook concerning the Excalibur Saws. "General International is not out of Business, but they did sell the Excalibur line to King Canada under a new name of Excelsior. This machine is the exact same model as the Excalibur, but only sold in Canada. The only change is the name. the manufacturing company is exactly the same, so the tooling is as per Excalibur... Identical Machines." This was from a gentleman in Canada. I have no idea how true it actually is, but he seemed to know his stuff. It obviously isn't sold in the states right now and he figured it would be at some point, but couldn't actually say when. Since, I couldn't get an Excalibur, I went with the Jet. I haven't had it long enough to give a good review, but so far I'm liking it. Big upgrade from my old saw. I'm still getting used to changing blades on it.
  5. Very Cool project! Well done.
  6. There are a few options for different types of chain out there. I've thought of using Rein Chains before, but haven't had a project that really needed chain. Typically they're used between a bit and the reins on a bridle, but are much more fancy, and a bit more expensive, than regular chain. They may be something to look at. A few websites with them are Out West Saddlery, and Custom Cowboy Shop.
  7. Great Job. They all look fantastic!
  8. Wow. Just.... Wow. Great Job.
  9. Beautiful!
  10. Looks great!
  11. If your doing a lot of fretwork, word art, intricate cutting, a good set of riffler files really comes in handy.
  12. Great Job!!!
  13. Impressive. Nice Clean Edges. Well Done Sir.
  14. No Joke there.
  15. My preference was the square one. Was easier for me to read it. But both look great.
  16. Great job. Love the pattern and cutting.
  17. I do a little of both. I enjoy scrolling more than turning, but I haven't been turning long. I haven't done any pens, but have turned some rustic vases and a lot of bottle openers and stoppers. The nice thing about turning is you get a finished project in a fairly short period of time. So far, I've had one show and the vases were my most popular item. I've been trying to sell scroll saw projects over the years, mostly through word of mouth and local donations/displays, with very little success. Seems like a lot people like to look at scroll saw art, but aren't really willing to pay for it. Maybe it's because it's not really functional, but I think it's also because there are so very many things you can put on your walls. A scroll saw picture, no matter how detailed, intricate, and pleasing it may be, either doesn't fit with the décor, or would take the place of pictures that have personal meaning.
  18. I do when I'm turning on the lathe, but don't when I'm scrolling. I use a particulate mask, the formed one's you can pick up at most any hardware store.
  19. Welcome from Montana.
  20. Well done. The backing colors really add to it.
  21. Looks great. Wonderful job!
  22. Congrats and well done!
  23. I second pretty much all that has been mentioned above. I use a dremel a little for carving, but my main tool is a set of spindle sanders I attach to my drill press. I don't really have dust control beyond using the vacuum after I'm done for the day.
  24. Wow. Great job cutting!
  25. They look great. Very well done!
