  1. Eautiful work on both Paul. The fact that you undertook that bird one twice, well kudos to you. My patience would not permit me to do it once I know. I really wish I had the patience for these beautiful and detailed fretwork pieces, but I know myself, and have learned I do not.
  2. Nice execution on a nice pattern. Kudos to both you and Jerry.
  3. Hello Vicki and welcome to the Village from another Tennessean. Glad you found us and look forward to your participation.
  4. Glad your surgery Went well, you are recovering nicely and you got some shop time. Time well spent, nice work.
  5. Welcome to the village, look forward to your participation.
  6. Nice Charlie. As mentioned, the most recent edition of the Scrollsaw magazine two “ramp walkers” in it. A hedgehog and an armadillo. If you don’t subscribe, itt can be found on newsstands right now. I’m showing a screen capture of the cover which has them on it. They also have a video of them on their website here: http://scrollsawer.com/2021/01/08/scroll-saw-woodworking-crafts-spring-2020-issue-82/

    Grumps

Hi John and another Tennessee welcome. My sister and her husband just had their first grandchild last year. She’s too young yet to call him anything BUT apparently when she was born, his secretary suggested “Grumps” said it fit. So everyone else has been calling him Grumps so Grumps he is too. Look forward to your participation. Hope you get your saw soon. What kind are you waiting on? ifvyou are not familiar with Steve Good’s blog, you might check it out. He usually posts a new free scroll pattern most days and has been doing so for years now. Most of the, are “smaller” projects so might work for you. You can find his blog here: https://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com You can search through his full library of patterns here: https://www.stevedgood.com/catalog/index.php
  9. Kevin, can’t help you on he glue up question. However, I did want to say great ornament you did for your kids and offer condolences for the loss of your beloved dog.
  10. Another Tennessee welcome to the Village. Glad you found us. Lucky you with the Hegner for the holidays. Let your wife know that there are quite a few women here in the village and we would love her participation too as she begins to learnt one scroll. I got lucky almost 5 years ago and found this site shortly after starting with the saw. Between the Village and a couple more forums and Steve Good’s blog I have learned so much more then I ever thought I would.

    New guy

Another Tennessee welcome. Glad you joined us from France. Look forward to your participation.
  12. Now I must say, contrary to @Charlie E might say, that new one for the Titians looks much better.
  13. Beautiful piece that anyone who works on autos would no doubt appreciate.
  14. Glad you got some me time Brenda. Clearly time well spent. beautiful piece.
  15. Welcome to the village from the foothills of the great Smokey mountains in East Tennessee.
  16. Funny, how different people perceive and like different things isn’t it. I find plenty of eye appeal and like the last three posters before me, I like the 2nd one best because I too think it “pops” a little more due to the brighter lighter color background. I don’t always like ragged edges, but sometimes I do, it depends on the subject and purpose. I like it here with the wolf myself. Nice work on both. Clearly a great example here of beauty (or not) being in the eye of the beholder.
  17. Prayers for you and yours as you handle the care giving. I too know the toll it can take, especially with dementia as my mother too had Alzheimer’s. I found scrolling shortly after we lost her and I found it very therapeutic to sit at the saw. I hope it breaks you the same comfort and joy. Your granddaughter will love this beautiful piece you have crafted.
  18. Excellent and you will have two happy folks with their gifts I am sure.
  19. Great work and she is going to be thrilled Christmas morning when she gets to open that. Major brownie points coming your way.
  20. Welcome and Merry Christmas. Glad you joined us. Look forward to your participation and seeing your work.
  21. Cute idea, nice execution
  22. We had a lot of wood trim, mounding, flooring, etc. left over when we had our house built 15 years ago. We had it put up in the attic and it has been repurposed for many things my husband has built over the years. It’s always interesting to see what he does with some of it.
  23. What a beautiful piece and I know Jake will be so excited to get it. Glad he has always been there to do great work. Glad you also found out before he just “disappeared.” Hopefully your new one will be good too.
  24. Still make a great team, beautiful piece crafted on both sides, the making and then the painting.
  25. Hi Rob and welcome “home” from East Tennessee. glad you found sometime to join in again. Look forward to your participation.
