I love it! It reminds when my granddaughter with spina bifida had this tiny yellow wheel chair. It had black upholstery with a bumble bee embroidered on the back. She was so gorgeous in it.

Wow Kevin. That is nice work. I would be so very nervous cutting some of those characters. There is not much to hold onto the base until you mount it on the backer. But then you are always surprising me.

I don't have much to post. Have not scrolled the last several days as we had out of state visitors. Being bored today I'm just gonna post this and that. Went o HF this Click to choose files afternoon and picked up this magnetic tool tray for the Hawk. The saw really likes it. It was smiling at me while I put it on the saw. My hawk is elevated front and back with 2" casters. I want to tilt the saw, hence the 6" casters. Replacing the 2" casters at the rear the saw will be elevated 4" giving me the tilt. If it is too much I can replace with 5" casters. I'm thinking I will be more comfortable with a vertical view rather than a more horizontal type view. The third photo is a Steve Good pattern I just downloaded. Just hoping someone can make a very similar pattern that says, "Home Sweet Harbor Freight." Perhaps I can bribe the manager to sell me the display model 9" band saw real cheap. It has parts missing and makes a very poor looking display. I want it because it has a cast iron table which I want. Mine has an aluminum table which will not allow me to make a magnetic fence. The last photo is hardly worth the bragging section What I have been doing lately is downloading old familiar logos, signs, etc to cut for my own amusement. Probably to just cover up any bare spots on the garage walls.

What are you expecting to do with it? I have an old 12" Craftsman in perfect shape which I seldom use. I have a HF 9" band saw which is used daily. I have had it for about three years. It sits next to my scroll saw. It is just a clone of many other 9"saws but is serving me very well. If you wish to do re-sawing I would think a 14" saw would be a minimum.

The opening on the lock-line is pretty small. I think removing the nozzle would do well. You are correct. The vacuum cleaner is designed to operate efficiently at 1 1/4" diameter.

I do the same. My paint booth is the trash can with a lid and I place my item on it and drag it to the driveway to dry. Unfortunately we are not having much 60 degree weather. My trash lid is becoming quite attractive. Perhaps I should frame it.

If you are using a lock-line as a vacuum intake the orifice is too small and you are restricting the amount of vacuum available. I was told that by using a smaller vacuum hose on my DC I would increase the vacuum. No such thing, it only reduced the DC efficiency. I had made a reducer to go from 2" to 1" which greatly reduced the vacuum ability to the scroll saw. I switched back to a 2" hose and the difference was amazing. It not only picked up dust but also small pieces that dripped through the blade hole in the table. Small holes do not suck well. But then what the heck do I know?

I I don't know how my Hawk responds to cold weather. My shop never gets below 50F. It's me that does not handle cold well. I would do well in Arizona but it's my wife that would die there. She keeps our house cold enough to hang beef.

Oh yes, the hands and wrists and arthritis. It's getting cold and I am old. I feel the chill in my bones.

Yes you can if you limit yourself to non-ferrous materials as mentioned before or very, very thin ferrous metals within a sandwich as also mentioned before. I have stack cut 360 brass 3/16" thick which totals 3/8". However, it was cut on a Grizzly pinned scroll saw. That was about 20 years ago. I remember it took forever to do so. The acted like a jumping bean. The saw was so bad I gave it away. But, it did finally do the job. It was rough and had to be smoothed out with a die filer. Business got in the way and I never did finish the clock. These days I would like to finish the clock but I have sold my two die filers as well as all of my larger machinery. The plates will someday grace a landfill.
