  1. WOW! Thanks for posting that. Word art is my main interest.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion Scrappile. I'd probably expire before I could finish one.
  3. I use bees wax when cutting brass with a fret saw.
  4. The attached photo is my first attempt at scrolling. This started about 20 years ago. This is where it stands today. I've been repairing mechanical clocks for over 40 years. Since retiring in 2001 I have been repairing full time. So back in the day I decided to build a clock. At that time I had large machinery. I bought a Grizzly scroll saw. A crude sucker, it used only pinned blades. I was eventually able to chew out the innards of the plates together taking forever. The plates are 3/16" 360 brass. The outside was cut out with a cheap three wheel band saw. At the time I had two die filers to do a lot of the smoothing. Having been busy operating my business and repairing clocks along with raising a family the project came to a standstill. I recently found these plates. Doubtful I will continue the project. I have gotten rid of my Bridgeport mill and large lathe as well the die filers. Old pappy time is pick'n my pocket and I can't make him stop it. My clock repair days are nearing an end and it has been a fun run for a long time. I gave away the scroll saw and band saw. I feel sorry for the one who received them. :>)
  5. Thanks. First time I heard of it.
  6. Those are beautiful.
  7. What are the diameters and who makes the pattern?
  8. Those are so cool! My grandson will be going into the Coast Guard this spring after college. I'd love to cut one for him.
  9. Really a nice piece. The great lettering really sets it off. I can see those flying off the shelf at a bike meet!
  10. Nice pattern and nice cutting.
  11. Love the Harley! Where are the oil drips?
  12. allpurpose, your photobucket has expired.
  13. What "Scroller's Cafe?"
  14. For straight cuts I use a folding table saw but when too lazy to open the table saw I have a 9" HF band saw and use JTTHCLOCKMAN's suggestion and use a 1" aluminum angle held with small C clamps. I hear lots of negatives about the 9" but mine gets a lot of use. It's cheap and works well. Don't cut 2X4's but does very well on thinner woods and pen blanks.
  15. Gee I barely noticed the fit up. Mostly just mesmerized with the complex and beautiful cutting.
  16. Ahh yes, Leslie's. After purchasing a few blades from Woodcraft to practice with I ordered a gross of assorted blades from them. Took several weeks to get them and then the order was short a dozen blades. Emails were not answered and a strange thing happened with phone calls. They were answered with, "If you know the extension number enter it now." I eventually got through with an explanation that the phone system was somehow messed up. ai have been ordering from Wooden Teddy Bear with great results. I will be ordering from D&D this week.
  17. Just google your Ryobi. I found the owners manual on line and it says it will use either pin or plain end blades. It includes a complete manual and parts list.
  18. Many thanks Iggy. Just what I needed.
  19. Who sells the Pegas MG blades. I just checked Wooden Teddy Bear but they only list Olsen and FD blades. I still have a couple. I bought them from the local Woodcraft store but they are across town a 45 minute commute if traffic is light. I only go there when absolutely necessary.
  20. Beautiful portrait of a beautiful woman!
  21. Glad new transportation is showing up. Don't see how you can keep up with the demand. Do all things in moderation or you will wear out too soon like a DeWalt.
  22. Altho I' more a John Deer man I do love Case tractors especially the old steamers. I remember as a kid the Case dealership with large cast iron eagle in front. I'd give my eye teeth for one of those. Do you sell these at threshing and old steam events? The would sell like a house a fire.
  23. Those are very clever. I like both of them.
  24. Beautiful!
  25. Great 280Z. They were a beautiful car as is your cutting. I'm impressed.
