That's terrific! Where did you get the illustration and how large is the image?
  5. Very nice work. I have made several of those pens,
  6. Great cutting. Love the puzzles.
  7. STUNNING! I'd do that pattern except I won't live long enough to finis it.
  8. I like the candle holders. I like the one with the candle displayed. The mark of a good scroller is one who consistently cuts straight lines. The crosses are a perfect example. Personally I like puzzles. I don't have to stay on the line. :>)
  9. Really nice. I like it. My problem was when I retired from my own business there was no one to give me a retirement award. Bummer.
  10. Very nice!
  11. ERROR! I need to amend my previous post. My reaction to all caps should have been limited to script and fancy fonts. They rarely look good in all caps. Generally san serif fonts work better in all caps.
  12. I like both designs, they are well executed. However, all caps are a no no in my opinion.
  13. The inlay leaf is amazing. Seems impossible for me to understand how something can be cut so accurately. Do you sand to get that perfect final fit? It is so incredibly nice.
  14. Curious. Did you find a solution to your dilemma?
  15. Many thanks. I noticed the small crimp and assumed it meant something.
  16. While cutting 1" (actually 3/4") pine I have been using FD #5 ultra reverse blades. I really like them. Question, is there a top and bottom or are both ends the same? Is there a correct or incorrect way to place them in the blade holders?
  17. Lots of interesting replies. Thanks.
  18. Thanks. Guess I'll order the 120 grit since I have not been doing anything too delicate.
  19. I finally decided to break down and buy a sanding mop. The time has come. Just need to know what grits are being used by the scrollers here. At nearly $30 I only want to buy one. At least for now
  20. The Harbor Freight dead man works well for me too.
  21. I gave my Ryobi scroll saw away. Felt guilty. Should have paid the guy.
  22. I don't inhale. Exhale only.
  23. I'm fortunate. I have a small room partitioned off in our garage which I can heat and air condition. Small but comfortable.
  24. Just curious. I count 14 new scrollers so far in November. At the same time there are so many more new pen turners. I am wondering why. Turning is infinitely more costly than scrolling. I think one attraction to pen turning is the shiny, and colorful pens displayed on the internet and catalogs. In addition it seems so easy to do. I admit that is what got me into turning. While I enjoy it, I also really enjoy scrolling.
