I just ordered 25 5" x 3/4" plastic craft test tubes with caps for $6.99, free shipping, from Amazon. I wouldn't have posted this but wondered how long this thread will go. :>)
I have only owned a Ryobi before getting my Hawks. The saws are older and tension is adjusted at the rear of the saw. Once my tension is set it never varies. The upper clamp has a hard stop for the blade and blade clamping is the same every time.
Welcome. Really great carvings. I can operate a saw but never a carving knife. You have a great talent. Hegner has a good reputation and being in Europe access to a German saw makes sense.
I'm sure this has been asked many times but here it goes again. I have about 15 different blades and need a convenient way to store them. I currently store then in 1/2" PVC tubes. It works. I presume they will narrow down to just a few favorites after experimenting a while. Just curious what other scrollers are doing.
What a wonderful thing to do. I think your daughter will appreciate what you have done especially after she is an adult. I often reflect on things my parents did for me. They are gone but I have things that remind me of them.
I ordered three 3" dome type mops on ebay. $11.99 for the three. They are 180 grit which is quite coarse but they are cheap enough to try. Hopefully they will work OK.
