    Dick, what saw are you using? I do use the pencil trick and sometimes use an awl to enlarge the entrance. If those don't work I may have to buy a Pegas.

    I made this for my grandson who is a die hard Patriot fan. 1/4" BB glued to a 1/4" BB backer and a plywood frame. Rattle can paint.

    1/4" BB, no backer while cutting it and used a #2 Pike jewelers blade. Someone has posted this before but I loved the pattern. Sam is one of my favorite designers.

    Actually Kevin, I use a #68 drill bit in the drill. 1/16" is by far too large. It has a great chuck!

    Thanks Charley. Appreciate the advice. I have a 1/4 hp motor I got cheap. I only use small bits. Larger bits, spade bits and Forstner bits go on my large floor drill.

    Why? They used to make great tools like Craftsman lathes, drill presses, etc. T hf at was years ago. Perhaps not the same company.

    Welcome to the Village Nick. I also love old iron but only if it does what I want it to do. Lots of good machines out there. I've had Hawks and they are wonderful. I presently have two Hegners which I love.
