  1. Scott I was thinking about using it to cut some stand up puzzles. You are paying $60 for 3/4" 5'x5' which is 25 square feet which is $2.40 a square foot. Walnut 13/16" thick cost $5.50 a SF so $2.40 isn't to bad. Merry Christmas
  2. Rob that there is funny. Merry Christmas
  3. Dave we have to give Kevin credit he hangs in there and does what he has to do to keep scrolling.
  4. Len try buying from this place. They give very good service. I had an order that was damaged in shipment and I sent them a picture and they shipped me boards to correct the damage. http://ocoochhardwoods.com/plywood.php Merry Christmas
  5. You could bookmark it just like you may have this forum bookmarked. Merry Christmas
  6. I just called the lumber company that I buy from and how much 3/4" 5 x 5 BB grade ply was. They said $22 and change a sheet. That seems cheap for the good grade of ply. Those that might know do you have any comments that might help me. Merry Christmas
  7. That looks really good Jim. Iggy inspired me and I finished my first two or three days ago and have been working on three more. I have been doing a poodle this mourning. Merry Christmas
  8. You and Russell both did a great job. Merry Christmas
  9. Merry Christmas to all my friends here at SSV and ..... I hope everyone gets the scroll saw of their dreams under the tree. If you have been good.
  10. Thanks Bobby and have a great Tennessee Christmas.
  11. Marge you are lucky to have them. They are very nice. Merry Christmas
  12. Ding ding ding!!! Kevin you amaze me. I don't know why I didn't think of that. Merry Christmas
  13. Dan I have been thinking about using BB ply but as I have read here on the SSV forum these puzzles need to be 3/4" thick to stand up. I do have some 1/2" but no 3/4". Like you I think I will try some this weekend. I think BB ply would look okay.
  14. Eddie God bless and have a great Christmas.
  15. Ron is that your pet. Red foxes sure are pretty. Merry Christmas
  16. We must be kin. Merry Christmas
  17. I made my first puzzle out of pine when I picked it up I broke a piece off. That happening to a child might be a chocking hazard. I have read some use poplar which I can buy for $1.60 a board foot while the pine is $1.05 a foot. Price doesn't matter when we are talking safety. I am now cutting one out of "alder". I will let you know how it turns out. So what wood or woods do y'all use? Merry Christmas
  18. If it's true. I may be wrong but it's hard to believe it will be cheaper. People are jumping up and down to by the EX at the asking price so why would they sell a model with more goodies for less? Of coarse I have been wrong before. I know, I know it's hard to believe.
  19. My wife and I have been trying to figure out what it's supposed to say. Boy are we a couple of dummies. That is the reason they call us Hillbillies.
  20. Thanks Kevin you must be the only one that has a clue about Dales. I will say they are priced a little higher than other companies but maybe they are better. Merry Christmas
  21. Great post Paul, you make it look so easy.
  22. Bruce you did a heck of a job on that. When you get serious you go all out. Your daughter will love it. Also thank for sharing with us the way you finished it.
  23. I had about as much fun cutting this as anything I have done. I used a FD UR #5 blade and the finish is mineral oil. The wood of coarse is 3/4" pine.
  24. Dan I love the clock. I like that about as well as anything thing I have seen on here. You do some fine work. Merry Christmas
  25. That is mighty nice of you Dan. You really have the Christmas spirit. Dan I am just kidding I know you would volunteer even if it wasn't Christmas.
