  1. I am glad your getting a new scroll saw but I really don't understand why your old saw couldn't be fixed. There just isn't to awful much to go wrong with a scroll saw. They should easily be able to fix anything that is wrong with a SS. Maybe this is the reason they have such a bad reputation for fixing their products. Now you might have to deal with whats wrong with your new saw. I hope you have good luck with it. Here is a four part video on how to fix a DW788 saw. Even if you don't want to work on your saw this video will educate you on how it works and how simple it is to work on.
  2. Bruce this is what I did for my miter saw. The old throw rug keeps a lot of the fine dust from bouncing off the back and sides and coming out. The big Grizzly dust collector hooks up in the back and the shop vac hose hooks to the dust port on the saw. I always use both dust collectors. Hope this gives you some ideas.
  3. Kevin I remember reading that it was on the out side but I for got it by the time I posted this. I am going down hill fast.
  4. Brian I don't understand why you want the dust collector in a closet. Mine sets out in the shop in it's on space. My shop like your is very small and I wouldn't want to give up the space walls take.
  5. You younger guys are just not keeping up with the latest technology. If your pictures are loading laying down it's because you are taking the picture with the camera on it's it's side. Come on guys it's so simple.
  6. I ordered some #3-5-7's 3 dozen each. If they help make me better it will be worth it.
  7. I have made dental moulding with my band saw. I know it's not the same but it turned out good. I did set up a back stop so I wouldn't have to worry about going to deep. You could do that on your scroll saw also.
  8. Dan I just love it. If you ever have plans I sure would like to have a set. I would expect to pay for them.
  9. Nice cutting Bobby. I see you have been enjoying your self.
  10. Dan this is a great idea. I wonder if using a hanger bolt would be easier to use? https://www.boltdepot.com/Hanger_bolts_Steel_plain_finish.aspx
  11. Look at it this way, you saved $900.
  12. Jim are you talking about the scroll table or the table the SS is sitting on?
  13. Oh no not another SS blade to try. Does it ever end?
  14. For you females this is a big problem but for us males we need to man up and take the punishment. We had the tape to use at the Nissan plant for those that had to push in plastic grommets all day long. That is the way I would go.
  15. This furnace filter catches the dust from my SS and I vacuum it off with my Shop vac. The filters last a long time doing that. You could do the same with your filter.
  16. Dick that owl shows you have talent. Keep going.
  17. Ron I don't know for sure because I haven't tried it nor have I ever read anything about it. I have used products like this in my gun safe to take moisture out of the safe. These products are good for using in small confined spaces like safes and closets in your house. To dry wood you need air movement around the wood. That is the reason for stickers. With the air movement a product like Damprid would have no effect IMO. To address the logs splitting I would cover them up so the sun and rain would not get to them but let the air move around them. I am not a turner but I know there must be several good forums on the net that cater to turners and you should find a lot of information about your questions.
  18. I really noticed a difference on the back of the neck on this dog. In my opinion the gap is to big. I do like the thicker blade when cutting the toes and mouth and other things like that.
  19. I bet your wife is happy. Ireally like it.
  20. Great job but that would drive me crazy.
  21. Steve I cut mine on the band saw.
  22. You need to drink the coffee BEFORE taking the pictures.
  23. I know nothing about hockey but that is a nice sign. I think what's really nice is that you included the pattern for those that would like to cut it.
  24. Thanks for the nice comments. They are appreciated.
  25. Tim I have not heard of Russian Olive wood but it's beautiful and you did a great job of scrolling on it.
