    I have been thinking about turning but I haven't learned to follow a straight line scrolling. But I am getting better. I also make other things like cutting boards and a rack for ladies to put their necklaces and bracelet's on. The ladies seem to really like it. I give all this stuff away and have fun doing it.

    Hey Ron and welcome. I wear a mask when I am scrolling or sanding and I also have dust collection that in most cases gets the dust at the source. I bought this cloth mask which is comfortable as you can get for such things.     Danny I have not heard of this brand of vac. Just from reading the information about this vac. I can't see why it would be better than other popular vac's. I have a Ridgid shop vac that is maybe 10 years old and it's still running fine and I use it a lot. If you buy it from HD and register it they will give you a life time warranty. that is a big plus IMO. What I don't like about shop vac's in this price range is the noise they make. http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-14-gal-6-0-Peak-HP-Wet-Dry-Vac-WD1450/100081216 This is how I do my dust collection and it works pretty good. I need to line up the little fan so it will work even better. The box fan is a 20" x 20" box fan I bought at Walmart for less than $20. The little fan I had on hand but it was pretty cheap. There isn't very much noise at all.

    Don I agree they do cut very smooth. Now to get my table saw blades to do the same.

    I want to try a 3D cutting using 1 1/2" pine. What would be a good blade to use? I have more FD UR blades but also have others.

    I want to get an aquarium pump for my scroll saw. Which one do I need. I was looking on Ebay and they have so many at so many prices.

    I did consider getting one and thought it was a very well belt saw. I bought the DW and it was bad so I took it back and got the EX16 which I like very much. What steered me away from the Jet was the price and I didn't think it had twice quality.

    Try these brad point bits from Lee Valley. They are the best I have found and they aren't cheap but IMO aren't so costly that they are out of sight.     I have read that a lot of people use BLO. That is half and half boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits. Also there is Watco Danish Oil.

    Sam if you want to use glue use very little and put painters tape on the base so any squeeze out will get on the tape not the wood. If your fit is good it takes very little glue to hold it.
