  1. Sam I put a little LocTite on mine to keep them from moving. Of coarse use the type that you can undo. I have also used finger nail polish in a pinch.
  2. You really are strutting your stuff. Great cutting.
  3. I do understand a little better after reading Travis's post and I also watched a Steve Good video which helped. Steve made the comment that thinner wood was easier to learn how to turn. I used a 1/4" piece of pine and did better but I need to get more practice on turning. I hope to get better at doing this.
  4. Sam I don't understand about back pressure. If scrolling on a straight line and you need to make a 90* turn to the right where do you apply slight back pressure?
  5. I am having trouble making 90* turns and it seems I am not improving just getting worse. What I am working on now is 1/2" thick red oak and using FD UR #3 blades. I am running my saw at about 75% and have been slowing it down and speeding it up, but no luck. I also have checked the blade to make sure it's tight and sharp. I do know part of it is my vision and I am having cataract surgery next month. I will be so happy. I just don't think it's all my vision.
  6. Dave here is a very good video on the DW788 saw. It's also very long but in 4 parts. I think you will find just about anything you need to know about your 788.
  7. Dave I think you should try Weldbond glue. It does good gluing to paint and dries clear and faster than Titebond. It also doesn't take a lot of clamping pressure. When I can I use a 23 gauge pin nailer. These are very useful. http://www.dickblick.com/products/weldbond-universal-adhesive/?clickTracking=true&wmcp=pla&wmcid=items&wmckw=23912-1160&gclid=Cj0KEQjwyozABRDtgPTM0taCrKsBEiQATk6xDhbdFL9i8ELPR_ZQvILwq53nrAi3h77rXP53THxHL2waAu_e8P8HAQ
  8. I use PVC pipe and label them. This works very well for me but mine doesn't compare with Dan's blade holder.
  9. Jerry that looks like a good deal. I bought one at Woodcraft and I like it but it cost $75. I really can't do without it.
  10. I love it Jim and you deserve the blue Ribbon.
  11. Try this they may have something you want. https://www.woodenteddybearonline.com/x/home.php?cat=49
  12. Some people call them Hedge Apple trees and I think Iron Wood trees. It depends on what part of the country your in and who your talking to. https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=bodock%20tree
  13. My nice likes the splits. She says it adds to it and makes it look more rustic.
  14. My nice want me to make her some coasters for her to sell. I had these slices of Bodoc laying in the shop and when she saw them she said they would be a great seller. I was going to make some type of scroll saw project out of them and I still plan to. My question is how to keep the bark from flaking and coming off?
  15. Glue a piece of wood on the back and screw your hanger to that.
  16. Very good Jim. Do you use the dust collection that came with the EX? Mine was so loud and in the way so I took it off. Just wondering what your opinion was.
  17. I agree Marge.
  18. I have a Dremel tool but I wasn't thinking about it. I really don't know what I was thinking about. Boy am I in trouble.
  19. There is a thread on sanding but I didn't want to hijack it. I have been thinking and wondering about sanding mops. They seem like they could be useful but being new I really don't know and I don't know which to buy.
  20. Rusty glad you got it. They gave one away on the "Router Forum" a while back and there was a lot of information about it. All good! If you haven't got a good rip blade for your table saw do your self a favor and get one. I got one about a month ago and I couldn't believe the difference. I got the Freud blade.
  21. Scott I am happy with my EX16 but I would have bought yours if it was available a few weeks ago. I am always a day late and a dollar short.
  22. Bobby it's been a long time since we have had a white Christmas so I believe I will paint the base white.
  23. Sounds like a great time. I wish I was there with you.
  24. Thanks I will try that. It worked!!! Now why didn't I think of that.
  25. It's been 13 years since I retired from Nissan and the guys in tool and die gave me this to make sure I wouldn't come back. I just thought I would like to try and cut it.
