  1. Paul putting epoxy on the back is a really good idea I will have to remember this. For this great tip I will give you the ""At-a-boy"" award for the day.
  2. Hello Randy and thanks for the post. I feel the same way you do. There are several people on this forum that live in Tennessee but you are the closest one. We will have to meet for coffee one mourning.
  3. Wow Kris that is so neat. That is one of the best cuttings I have seen on this forum.
  4. Denny I think I like the heart best. I am afraid if I look at that ribbon tree to hard it will break.
  5. Nice work. I really like the mouse and her little ones.
  6. Seyco has a new made in 1996 EX19 VS scroll saw for $500 plus shipping and that might be the deal breaker. If you have an opinion I would appreciate hearing it as I know nothing. Thanks
  7. I agree Paul. A post like this is a win for everyone.
  8. When I carve signs with a router I spray the pattern with adhesive and remove it with a heat gun. I then wipe it with paint thinner to get the adhesive off. The heat gun I got at Harbor Freight for about $8 .
  9. Thanks Iggy for taking the time to lay this out so I can understand it. You are doing a very good job of cutting. I might be able to help you some. Try using mineral oil to soak your puzzles in. This is what I use on wooden cutting boards. It might save you a little money.
  10. Maybe one of these days I will be able to do that good.
  11. We use to have woodworking shows in Nashville but it's been 10 or 15 years ago. It was always in downtown Nashville and the price for parking was very high and it cost a lot to get in the show. Most men woodworkers are old "The ladies are always young" People that are older don't like going down town IMO. I assume they didn't make enough money to keep having them. I bet they would do better now as there are more people and cheaper places to rent.
  12. Could you get a pattern from this? If you can't please consider I know nothing about patterns. 13. Ward I check my spam about twice a day because there are a couple of people that send me emails by the dozen but some times I get an email about someone that has passed away. I also thought that if an email from Seyco went to spam but didn't have the word Seyco in the title I could have trashed it. Don
  14. Good for you Jim. I checked to make sure I sent the email. Don
  15. Women have a way with men and usually get what they want so it shouldn't be to hard to get a scroll saw. At least that is the way it works in my house. She left for Fla. this mourning. I find it better to buy a good used tool than buy a new cheap one. So buy quality. Good luck!!! Don
  16. Len I am pretty sure it was Seyco I was on their web site. I sent them an email because no body wants to talk any more. I am sure they are a good company but when you don't have much to sell... You must remember I never heard of Seyco until I read about it on this forum. {{{I am in no way putting blame on this forum}}} It sure seems I am having a lot of trouble getting a scroll saw.
  17. I have a branding iron that is electric and use it to sign things I make. I am one of those that give everything away. It ain't worth selling. Don
  18. I have considered the Jet and will more than likely go with it unless I the 788 comes. It is supposed to be here by Wed. but I don't think it will. I haven't heard from the seller at all. Maybe one day soon I will get into scrolling. Don
  19. I am very new to scroll sawing in fact I still haven't got my Dewalt 788 I ordered on Ebay. I ordered it on 8/9/16. So I am pretty sure I am still going to need a scroll saw so I sent Seyco an email asking when they might have the EX saws back in stock. I haven't heard anything from them. I am new so I don't know if they are a good company or not but I do know they haven't started out good with me. I am sure glad you can buy scroll saws at more than one place. LOL Don
  20. Now tell the truth. You bought these didn't you. LOL I am just kidding. They both are so well done. I now have a high mark but at 74 I don't think I will ever get there. Don
  21. Very nice Dave. I hope they don't call off the wedding. LOL Don
  22. Great job on this. I think you couldn't go wrong either way you cut the top. I guess you could cut a top at 18.5 * and see which you think looks the best. Please post more pictures when you have finished it. Don
  23. I think you may be right. I sent an email to Seyco asking about when the EX would be back in stock. I haven't heard anything back. I thought about buying the EX if I don't get my Dewalt 788 and as each day passes I don't think I will. Reading the good review on the Jet makes me want to buy it. The price keeps going up never down. LOL
  24. Denny you did a great job cutting this and also a great deed. Helping others is always good. I also like you telling how you made it. It helps dummies like me learn. Don
