  1. Thank you. I counted yesterday and there's 39 portraits on my walls now. Ready to switch to something else for a while I think. Great to have a hobby with so much possible diversity isn't it?
  2. Correct!!! Denzel is the man!!!
  3. I posted him on FB and someone guessed that first thing also. Not him though. A bit younger and no freckles. I'll add a picture with the smile to see if that helps.
  4. A favorite actor of mine, Denzel Washington. Seems to be a good and wise man off the screen as well. If this actor is in it, I'll watch a movie with bad reviews just to see him act. Any guesses? I'll add his smile to see if that helps.
  5. Great collaboration between you and your daughter! It's a really great and very recognizable portrait and the fact that you and your daughter had a hand in it will make it more special to her friend. I love the bamboo too. Haven't seen it in sheets around here. Great job!
  6. Very cool!
  7. Wow! Great work!
  8. I did a cutting of Stan a few months ago and messed his hair up. Since I see it every time I go in the shop I had to do a do-over. I'm much happier with this one. A lot of you didn't know who he was before so as a reminder he's the writer/creator of such characters as Spiderman, Ironman, Hulk, Thor and many more. He's feigning shooting his Spiderman web in this picture. Done in Red Oak with a rough cut backer. Around 7" X 13".
  9. Great job. Like those a lot!
  10. Can't imagine you being disappointed. I love mine. Love my wife also.
  11. Great job! I'm also a fan of properly placed shadows though I'm not too good at placing them yet. It leaves something to the imagination. Before Mt. Rushmore was carved it was un"Presidented."
  12. Nice job! And interesting tip.
  13. Great job and thanks for doing it! I hate all cancer but childhood cancer especially. Some local folks who lost a daughter to cancer around a year ago started a charity. Through them I found out that less than 4% of the federal budget for cancer research is dedicated to childhood cancer. Too sad.
  14. Excellently done! Great job on lots of straight lines.
  15. Very cute. Well done!
  16. Nice job of cutting and of turning something not intended to be used as a scroll saw pattern into a nice piece!
  17. Thank you. If you're interested I posted the pattern in the New Pattern section.
  18. I just got a Jet and it does something similar. The rep told me it can even be caused by my fluorescent lights. Apparently the remote receivers are temperamental and very sensitive to false signals. For now I'm turning the breaker off to mine when I leave but I'm going to ask them for a new control panel.
  19. Nice looking bike! Awesome story.
  20. Great job! Welcome to the hobby. So many different things to do with it. Whenever I get burned out on one thing I just look at something like Pinterest and find a new idea. Have fun.
  21. Had it on the first picture. Nice job!
  22. One of the greats, Ray Charles. Done in 1/2" Red Oak, around 6" X 8".
  23. I made a few of these. Love playing it with the grandkids.
  24. Thanks Kevin. Gotta do your best when you're working on legends like these.
  25. Great job. I've got the pattern, just waiting on the right mood to start it.
