  1. Very nice and nice find on the spalted poplar! Looks great!
  2. Nice job Danny. Just noticed I live about 2 hours from you. I live in Glencoe which is next to Gadsden. R.T.
  3. Nice job! He'll love it.
  4. Thank you Dick. I have them hanging on the walls of my shop. At last count I have 50. I can already hear my kids saying, "Well, what are we gonna do with all this stuff?"
  5. Great job! They'll be proud to hang that!
  6. Great job! They'll enjoy that for years to come.
  7. Wow! You did a fantastic job! Those picture don't look like they would be easy to work with. Great work.
  8. Very nice job! That would be nice to look at while winding down waiting on the Sandman.
  9. Great job! I really don't feel it is that controversial of a statement. While I am a Christian, I totally agree with the message of your piece. From what I understand Jesus himself wasn't a fan of religion. Most of the people he had a problem with were religious leaders who tried to get people to follow all of their manmade rules and felt they were better than others because of all their outward piousness while they were rotten on the inside. One of my favorite verses is 1 Corinthians 13:13 "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love" which seems to indicate "Love is more important than faith." I also agree with your statement about not blindly following dictates that don't ring true in your heart. Thanks for sharing your work.
  10. I'd say you described him very well. Sadly he died in a car crash in 1997 while headed to do a benefit concert.
  11. Beautiful work!
  12. Have to give the credit to Kris Martinson, the pattern maker for that, but thanks!
  13. Cool! I had read that even when he was drawing large crowds he preferred small settings.
  14. Fun project! Well done!
  15. Lots of nice work Danny!
  16. Beautiful pattern and cutting!
  17. Counted 50 today. Mostly something for my kids to say, "What should we do with all this junk?" over one of these days.
  18. One of my favorite Christian musicians ever, Rich Mullins. If you don't know him he wrote and sang songs you probably know including Awesome God. I love him because he was sort of a hot mess. He drank, smoked, cussed, didn't bath regularly. He also made millions of dollars and gave it away to charities and churches except for a small living allowance. He worked with Navajo children on a reservation. Sounds like a disciple, and I'll bet one of God's favorite sons. Cut in wormy walnut.
  19. I'm with you on that. I enjoy the hobby but like to cut things I want to cut and very rarely sell anything so I don't cut very many things more than once either.
  20. Nice job. You could sell a truck load of them around here.
  21. I've been a Morgan Freeman fan since he was Easy Reader on The Electric Company on PBS in the early 70's. Thanks to Botas Helder for a fantastic pattern. Cut in 1/2" quarter sawn oak with a wormy walnut backer.
  22. Thank you. This one was a movie poster that was almost scrollable to start with. Just had to add a few bridges, etc.
  23. Nice work! I can definitely picture those in a beach home.
  24. Nice job! Looks like it would be a pain to scroll, but you did it well!
