  1. Oh, and it is my pattern more or less. I started with this image I came up with after running a picture I found online through a pencil sketch generator. I kept a pencil by the saw and shaded in what I wanted to cut as I went. If anyone wants to use my cutting to make a pattern I have no problem with it.
  2. Thank you very much Paul! I did cut the suggestion of the red stripe and really struggled with whether to stain it red, as well as staining their eyes green, a sign of their intelligence in the movie. I decided against it, at least for now. I worked on it for so long I'm terrified of ruining it. I see how I want it in my mind but I'm afraid it won't turn out that way.
  3. So I've been a fan of Planet Of The Apes movies since I was a child. In 2014 my son, Chris, told me they were making a new series which preceded the original story line. There are 3 movies in the new series and I love all 3 as does my son. This is Caesar from the new movies and his son Cornelius who is the main ape character in the ones I grew up watching. I hid mine and my son's initials in the portrait. (both CKE) One is in Caesar and one in Cornelius. The shape in the lower right is a symbol from the movie. I'm keeping this one for now but it will eventually be my son's. About 9" X 11" in 1/2" red oak.
  4. Beautiful! I plan to cut that one some day. And you're right. Fiona is a gifted artist who happens to use a scroll saw. Some of the multilayered pieces she does with vegetation in the front are just unbelievable. She must also be gifted with the patience of Job.
  5. Beautiful intricate work!
  6. Great idea and execution!
  7. Nice job Kevin. I know she's happy with it!
  8. Nice job. Very cool piece of wood.
  9. Cool stuff! Nice job!
  10. Great job Kevin! Much cooler name than Alexa's Fruit Stand.
  11. I really like them. Great job and Happy Halloween.
  12. I love it. Beautiful wood and the font is perfect for this piece! Terrific job!

  14. Nicely done! I see the twinkle in his eyes!
  15. Very nice Danny! SSV is getting me in the Christmas spirit today.
  16. I like all of these very much! Excellently made. I agree they are "art" quality. I think most people are happy to pay craft prices for art pieces.
  17. Amazing precision, as always!
  18. Great combined effort! He should be happy with the outcome. Love the colors!
  19. Amazing piece of art! Definitely worth springing for the Bubinga wood. Beautiful!!!
  20. That's some clean scrolling! Great to hear from you Kevin! Not the same without you.
  21. Thank you. I cut this back piece and rabbeted it to accept the glass. It's pine and turned out pretty fragile so I caulked the glass in from the back and caulked the sides to the frame since it was too small to nail. Probably lots of easier ways to do it.
  22. Looking great so far! Wouldn't it be nice if we could know how many years from now things we make will still be around. This will be an heirloom for sure.
  23. Thankfully the cuts were straight lines on this one. This was the first time I've cut glass.
  24. My wife's sister likes dragonflies so I cut this for her birthday. Wish I had Fiona's talent and could work without a pattern. This would have been a more enjoyable cut but apparently I didn't get enough adhesive on it and had to fight the pattern lifting. I added a bit of detail around the eyes to help them stand out a bit more. Red oak with Danish Oil and a stained glass backer.
  25. Beautiful job Paul!
