  1. Agreed! And Done! Thanks for the link
  2. Sites get money from ads when someone clicks on the ad - it's called PPC, not when the ad pops up. They can also generate income by allowing the ads to be placed on their site but the meat of the income is usually from clicking the ads
  3. There are blockers for phones also
  4. WB - can't wait to see some of your projects!
  5. lew WAKE UP - I think you're posting in your sleep Thanks
  6. I just tried it with @Iguanadon file here Puzzle Display Stands by Scott.pdf Works fine - just select "choose files" at the bottom, find your file on your computer and it will insert the file into the post
  7. I don't get pop ups on any site - I use Firefox with adblock and noscript
  8. That is not only a very nice cut, but a great gift as well - thanks for sharing
  9. Wow those are incredible! I like the blue myself, with the bottom frame
  10. I agree - in addition, many forums search also include search engine results - for example there are quite a few that add a Google search, when you search for a topic you get the entire gamut of results not just those on the website/forum which for me anyway, tells me not to use that sites search function.
  11. JT I did not take offense at your response - not sure it was yours I was even referring to, I just remember reading that dreaded "long enough" comment and had flashbacks of someone on another forum telling visitors to research before they ask questions and they had been on the forums long enough to not have asked such a dumb question - I'm not saying that is what you were referencing. I do value everyone's positive responses to all the questions asked, even those asked dozens/hundreds of times over an over - I know as time passes I'll probably see the same questions asked over and over as well and rather than respond with an opinion I may just post a link to the thread and ask if that is what they are referring to - similar to what Kevin did in my request for setting up my new Delta. No offense taken by me from you or any other person on this forum - you all have been exceedingly kind and welcoming to me and it is greatly appreciated by me, Oh and "I'm envisioning a scroll saw will be following me home Friday... Now what?" LOL J/K
  12. Yah, I'm not the type to take things apart to either see how they work OR fix them LOL - usually when I take things apart to repair them, I either can't get them back together the same way or have parts left over. I'll use a certified repair specialist before I attempt anything on my own - UNLESS, the unit can't be broke any more than it already is, or there are no repair specialists for the unit like my old craftsman drill and circ saw :(
  13. I removed mine on the Wen and will do so on the Delta as well
  14. Very nice of you thanks! Greatly appreciated
  15. I wanted to offer a friendly reminder to villagers when making comments to visitors, both new and old. Once we visitors find this place and start asking questions and trying to contribute when we can, our post counts increase fairly rapidly. Just because our post counts increase, doesn't mean we are vastly more knowledgeable all of a sudden. We do have and get more information and process the responses to our questions, however our over all abilities and knowledge are no where near that of the many experts on this forum. Take me for example: I admit thanks to you all, I am lightyears' ahead of when I found this site and asked my first question - however, there are still so many things I've not tried and don't know how to do - Intarsia, segmentation, lettering, making patterns, wood selection, grain direction selection, staining and so much more! So, I continue to ask what are beginner questions, simply because I still am a beginner (scrolling 2 months now) and perhaps I've come across a subject or technique I am unfamiliar with or can't find a good explanation elsewhere. I'm posting this reminder because in response to a question someone asked, they were given the dreaded "You've been here long enough to know..." response. Ouch... May I suggest, even if someone has been here "long enough to know" that if you're not going to respond positively, perhaps it's better not to respond at all? One of the first lessons my parents taught me was "If you can't say something nice about someone, don't say anything at all" I know on forums, sometimes responses can be taken the wrong way simply because there is no emotion being submitted with the response. As well some people have thin skin. I'm just saying... One sure way to decrease the population of a forum is to be snobby with new members. I've been here "long enough to know" many of the responses are in "fun" , but others may not realize it. I'm not trying to start anything here, and apologize if I've offended anyone, but after reading the response I thought it warranted mention and... Just a friendly reminder. Thanks for reading Back to our regularly scheduled program....
  16. Very cool and Pink lol - thanks for sharing
  17. Did a search "how to take apart and put together a Dewalt scroll saw" but didn't find the vids - found everything but the scroll saw oh well, I'll try again another time - thanks
  18. Is there anything special anyone knows I need to do when setting up the new Delta? I will of course follow the directions in the manual, but I've seen some posts and reviews where bearings need to be greased or bolts needed to be tightened. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  19. I like this idea - thanks! But back in
  20. LMAO - I have that grinder, it's my first and only - I thought all grinders took hours to stop spinning LOL
  21. Very nice - looks like a great gift for someone as well
  22. Very nice - you have a counter top for a bench? Cool!
  23. What I meant and should have said is: it's a roil of the die whether you get a good one or a bad one. Example: 1 1/2 years ago I bought a Wen drill press from Amazon, it didn't work properly - I was unable to move the motor to change the speed, so I returned it and bought that crappy Craftsman that had so much trouble. Last week I bought the same drill press from Amazon and it works great! So that's what I meant - sorry for the misunderstanding
  24. Thanks all for the responses @Bill WIlson - yah but I asked for opinions and value everyone's positive advice - whether I take the advice or not is my decision. I went with the Delta for several reasons - I do like Dewalt tools, but unless I can get them refurbished they're just a hair out of my price range. I'm not a professional, or I wouldn't think twice about the Dewalt - perhaps even one of the other higher end saws. I've had no issues with my Delta TS so I like they're products as well IMO it's a roll of the dice no matter what you buy - I know others with my TS who couldn't wait to return it and get a cabinet saw. But IMO that's comparing apples and oranges. Just like comparing the high end scroll saws to the mid and lower range ones - it's all opinion and roll of the dice. Hopefully, my roll will come up good this time LOL
  25. lew - it took me about 2 months as well before I opted to pull the trigger on this - once I decided I liked this hobby with the Wen which I still think is the best starter saw for the money, that's when I began to notice the short comings. I've been searching for a used/refurbished unit for several weeks now, and after all is said and done and not being big on repairing equipment myself (since I'm terrible at it anyway) I knew going new was the only way for me at the moment. Free shipping at Amazon is an incredible deal as well! Spoke to the wife this morning about the purchase and whether to keep the Wen - she wants to keep it for specific cuts as well. See. that's why you have to get the wife involved - if she likes, she doesn't squawk about buying stuff LOL
