First and third option I like the most....but the third backing is my favorite. I wonder what that would look like with white cuttings on the red back and the stained frame.....
All options are very good.....maybe leave it up to the couple?

I keep re-doing this piece....this time I sanded down the paint, added a bit of stain, then shellac. I mounted it on an old reclaimed piece of wood that I added some white gel stain to brighten it up.
Maybe tomorrow I'll change it all....or toss it!!!

I like reverse blades.....even with the kickback! They seem to really cut clean and the underside of the wood is very smooth. I used to have to sand the back quite a bit to get rid of the fuzzies!
I just make sure that when I start up again to cut i hold the piece firmly to the table. I have been using primarily 1/4 inch Baltic Birch.
