  1. Nicely cut! I've been wanting to do one of these, but other projects keep sneaking onto the pile....
  2. Nice!
  3. Nice!!
  4. Nice!!! But for it to be a TRUE Jeep, they need to hang it upside down...
  5. Is the boat one a Sam Custodio pattern? He loves those eye-twisting line-patterns (as do I!). Very nicely cut!!
  6. I tried inlay once. Used 3/4" board. LOL I may have to revisit inlay again at some point, with more realistic wood.
  7. VERY NICE!!!
  8. If someone has to ask Charles Dearing to simplify a pattern, they're just not ready for a Charles Dearing pattern. Plenty of other good, simple patterns available to practice on. Probably the same people who have a "go me!" wall full of participation trophies and 9th-place ribbons. This one looks GREAT!!
  9. Awesomeness!!! Minwax "Gunstock" gives a nice orange tint, I've found works well for tiger cuts.
  10. Nicely cut!
  11. Nice!!! Can't help but think that one corner should be scorched/burned, though.
  12. Nice! I did a Lovecraft portrait (with Cthulhu on his lapel) to hang up at work around Halloween. I plan on getting a LOT of "who's that?" questions.
  13. And after assembly. It spins, gears mesh, does absolutely nothing but look awesome and let me know that cutting gears isn't as scary as it looks. Maybe time (har) to start looking at wooden clocks again...
  14. It was a fun, curvy cut!
  15. Its up in the Pattern Library, along with another HP pattern I did recently. https://www.scrollsawvillage.com/forums/topic/38730-harry-potter-stuff/
  16. Finished up another Harry Potter quote for my wife, not sure if I posted it. 3/4" generic plywood leftover from the bed project. Stained Minwax Cherry. #3 Pegas MG blade, if I recall correctly. Also, a Steve Good pattern from his newsletter the other day, a Nautilus Gear wingding. The gears spin on 1/4" dowel axles, and the plans even include cutting the washers that go on the ends of the axle. Dry-fitting after I cut it, I decided that the upright and the washers were tight enough fits for the axle, so I used a round file to make the gear holes a tad bit bigger. Not frictionless, but not tight. Easy to spin, but they're not going to ever be mistaken for a perpetual-motion machine. 1/4" BB ply, mostly, the base was a scrap of something I found in the may-be-useful-later bin that collects all sorts of odd cutoffs and random spiders. No worries....between the spiders and scorpions, I don't have to worry about too many crickets or roaches in my garage. Stained Minwax Honey (upright, base, and washers) and BLO (gears and axles).
  17. I picked up a drafting stool from Office Depot, due to the height of my workbenches. Definitely a lifesaver!
  18. Very nicely cut!!! And as a steampunk fan myself....AWESOMENESS!!! Any chance those extra gears turn as the clock runs?
  19. Very nice! And very...Pink! (both color and content)
  20. Love the dragon one (but both are nicely cut!) I did that pattern for my daughter, at 25% size, added a little half-circle at the top and drilled a hole in it, then ran a leather cord through. She wears it like a pendant.
  21. Dark looks good to me!
  22. So...I'm guessing this gives them someplace to go, instead of the eaves or behind shutters or anywhere near my own person whilst out working in the garage/shop?
