  1. That's cute. I know a few cat people who would love that.
  2. I don't know much about Baltic Birch, except that it is bloody cheap. I just looked at Cherokee Woods WHOW. In Oz it costs me $108.00 for 2400(8') x 1200 (4') x 4mm(3/16") of Hoop Pine ply, plus delivery.
  3. @Rolf You are correct mate, but at the time i was a better deal and it was available in Kalgoorlie, which makes it a winner as otherwise a hundred plus bucks for transportation would of been added. And I was totally sick of changing belts to change speeds.
  4. @Rolf It's a Reeves drive mate. When I got it there wasn't any electronic ones that kept torque at low speeds unless you gave them your 1st born in exchange . Actually sometimes I think it wouldn't have been such a bad deal
  5. Good job, I like the idea for the eyes.
  6. Very nice work Dick. Of all the things I have made over the years I only have a key rack at home. The War Office has Jewell y box, so I may just take a leaf out of your book and do some things for us. Well done mate
  7. Marg, Be specific, "Dear Santa, I would love a variable speed drill press for Christmas and I promise to be better next year" This is the one I have, but, alas, it is discontinued
  8. Thanks Bob, The Duke and Elvis sell pretty well, I even get rid of a couple of Audrey Hepburn ones a year. As Marilyn Munroe, I have never sold one and wouldn't of even cut her, but a friend asked me to and then "I never really wanted her, just thought she'd look god cut" so there you go. Dean Martin, I cut one for my brother in-law and stacked 3, I sold the 1st time I displayed him, but I have had this one for almost a year. On the whole, I think the portraits have slowed down, but I refuse to give them away, so if I sell one, It can make a huge difference to the day's takings.
  9. Thanks MArg, I was pretty excited when I found it. It is actually a stencil that I had to do only a little work on to make it into a pattern
  10. Thanks Dick if I got a dollar from every one who admired them and asked how long they take to cut, I wouldn't have to sell any
  11. Thanks Brenda, My daughter, who makes jewellery and shares the stall, also had a great day. I sell only one or two portraits each market, but the puzzles etc, walk away.
  12. Thanks Kevin. I do get a lot of returning customers.
  13. I couldn't see another suitable to place to post this. Had a good day at the local monthly markets today. I had concentrated on making stand-up puzzles over the last couple of weeks and had about 25, along with portraits etc to take along. looks like I'll be making more puzzles this month as I put $390 in the sky-rocket . The markets run from 8am - 1pm. Glad they were today when the temp was only 26c not on Wednesday when it is reckoned to reach 39c
  14. When I was working in a cabinet factory we had air powered vibrating sanders (1/4 sheet sanders). They did a great job but after a few hours using one your hand had pins and needles for awhile. Trying to grip your brew at smoko was a bit of a worry
  15. I use one of the tubes that's not full of dust to place used blades, that still have some mileage on them, in. If I have to make a cut and don't have the correct size in the saw, I just look through the used ones and select what i think will do the job.
  16. I made a rack to hold tubes, but now just leave the blades in the plastic bags they came in. I'm slack, but it works
  17. A beautiful collection
  18. Mine has 2 trays, one for A4 and one for A3 as well as a single feed slot for heavy card. It's a Brother MFC J6920DW you can also enlarge or reduce from the printer, just like a copier. I don't use Brother cartridges, I use generic ones, a fraction of the cost and last just as long and give an equally good finish if you are printing photos onto photographic paper.
  19. Great stuff Frank
  20. I have Brother inkjet, three in one. It takes up to A3 paper, can copy and enlarge just like a copier, can scan and also copy multiple pages at once and print on both sides of the paper. I like the colour because I can alter the black lines to red on patterns for cutting. Also excellent for printing labels, business cards and stickers.
  21. You're a brave man Rolf, I think Id have to get a deposit box to keep the results away from the War Office
  22. Good stuff mate. Something that nobody will forget, plus with a grin. Winner.
  23. A nice selection Marg
  24. Absolutely beautiful pattern and cutting. Ripper job
  25. G'day Bob, I did a bit of a search, here is the search page. There are a few. The Wooden Teddy Bear has one. https://www.google.com.au/search?source=univ&tbm=isch&q=tiger+and+cubs+scroll+saw+pattern&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjPmJ3Gne_sAhXjwjgGHfTaDLYQjJkEegQIBBAB&biw=1920&bih=919 Heldas Botas also has a couple on his etsy site, here is one. https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/CustomWoodPortraits?search_query=tiger
