I used a scissor jack on my home made table saw, to raise and lower the blade.
I also have a hydraulic jack I made into a press to clamp the backers on a number of tray puzzles or portraits at the same time. "That will come in handy one day"
I would suggest you get hold of a 1/4" chuck of an old drill. Put a bolt in the end that screws onto the drill, cut the head of it and put it in your drill press or other drill.
I have used one for years for the smaller bits.
I never use oils as a finish, as they offer non, if any; protection to the item. In particular toys as they are handled, played with and get dirty. You can't clean an item if it does not have a proper protective finish.
Very nice cutting of one of Heldas' patterns.
I agree with you wholeheartedly about the members. I like Willy and Waylon and Johnny cash, but as for Kristofferson, I have to agree he makes a far better writer than a singer and that's coming from somebody who couldn't carry tune in a bucket
Well done again Gary. Congratulations mate.
Sadly, there are no shows I can enter in within cooee of home. My father, however, has won quite a few ribbons for his woodwork in the "Blind crafts" section of our WA Royal Show.
