    Love it !!
  2. Mmm, 'functional' I think he called it 'bless him', but it works so I smiled and said 'Thank You'
  3. Way to go Gary. !!! Well deserved. !!
  4. I don't Ray, I'm quite happy on my feet, it was my back and neck that bothered me. Although I have a thick carpet mat to stand on as I find a concrete floor very hard and cold. I suppose as we get older we all have 'different' bits that hurt. Old age is wonderful isn't it ? I now understand what my mother meant when she said ''Youth is wasted on the young''
  5. Well it is a 'chair' with a 'leaning post' nailed to it.
  6. What's confusing you Ray ?
  7. I've tried various things at my saw. Chairs, Stools, swivel stool, stools with bars for your feet, etc, etc. However, nothing seemed to fit me. They either made my back ache or my neck ache. Well, I had this old chair from when I had my corner in Tony's workshop. It had just a board fastened across the arms and I found it comfy, but, my saw is now in my new workshop and the bench is slightly higher in there, so.! We improvised and Tony came up with this... It's perfect !! I find that being able to stand + sit at the same time is so, so comfy. I have just used my saw for a good couple of hours and nothing aches. !! Now I'll grant you it wouldn't win a prize for the best looking seat in the world but I love it..
  8. Brilliant, Congratulations !!
  9. Beautifully done. !!
  10. Brilliant
  11. I too love this pattern, I'm sure if people could see your work they'd buy it in a heartbeat.
  12. Brilliant. Great cutting
  13. I wrote a little while back about buying some 3mm ply and bemoaned the fact that it was cutting really, really badly. Well, with a little help from a friend on FB here in the UK who sent me a link for where he buys his from, I actually got some 'decent' wood. The difference is like night and day. It's amazing. Yes, it's more expensive but wow, well worth it as you can see from the photos. This is the 'back' of the two woods after cutting. .Yeah, I'm one happy bunny today.
  14. Here you go, it's an H Botas pattern at Custom Wood Portraits.
  15. Nice. I have a laser that I bought about 6 mths ago but it's still in it's box. Truth be told I'm a little afraid of it.
  16. I must admit, we've all done that. Men I find get angry and frustrated, Ladies tend to despair and get upset. Personally, I eat chocolate and put it aside and come back to it another day and if I can 'cut' the broken bit and glue, I will. You're in good company, not that it helps, and we all sympathise.
  17. Tony does that all the time
  18. That's stunning and I like the idea of a diamond shape. !
  19. That look great Gary, may have to steal that idea. Brilliant.
  20. I used tape around the edges. The only problem I had was that one of the pieces was bowed slightly which meant I had to push them together when cutting the middle bits. Next time if I have a bowed piece I'll put a tiny nail in the 'cut out ' bits. I'm well used to cutting ¼" wood so I didn't find it too hard, just felt a little strange in places
  21. I think that's an amazing gift, I'm sure they'll treasure it always.
  22. No, I just used my Niqua #3, I do love that blade. I have just bought a gross of the smaller size though. I've ordered some better wood so will try the #2 blades on that.
  23. Must admit, I was expecting 'a mess' but fortunately they both turned out fine I think.
  24. I found a 'stopwatch' on my phone. It worked brilliantly. Just push go and when you stop just push stop. It's continuous in that it doesn't reset to zero. I found it an immense help when I used it. Hope this helps. there were other suggestions on that thread
  25. It is Don, but it's awful to cut so it's being returned and I've ordered some 'proper' stuff It was a bit better to cut when stacked but still not what I want.
