  1. That's absolutely brilliant a beautiful
  2. A friend asked for a couple of Lead holders. Well I'm not up to the standard of @Iguanadon and his magnificent lead holders, so I thought I'd go for something simpler.
  3. Wow !! I don't know 90 people Are they for a special occasion ?
  4. Amazing !! I always love to see your work, I think it's marvellous .

  9. Hi Rob, Welcome to the Village, I'm down the A1 in Doncaster You'll enjoy it here, it's full of lovely friendly people that will answer any question you have.
  10. It's a horse Marg, but almost a reverse silhouette. The white wood on the left is it's mane if that helps.
  11. Aww, thank you Dan. I used a flat blade, Niqua ultra reverse 3
  12. Thank you, I think the table does look good under it but I'm not cutting my table , It's an H.Botas pattern and it's free on his facebook page, Custom Wood Portraits.
  13. I've got some wood from a company that refurbishes vans. It's the stuff they rip out and throw away. It's not the holy grail of Birch Ply, but I'm quite pleased with the results anyway. Good enough to oil and put a backer on I think. It's just laid on my kitchen table at the minute. An H.Botas Pattern.
  14. Beautiful !!!
  15. Thank You.... Yes, it was done on the bandsaw.
  16. Love the way you've done the backer board, nice touch.
  17. Welcome to the Village, you'll enjoy it here, there's a wealth of knowledge.
  18. Well, finally finished !! I'll give it a quick buff up on the day it leaves home. A Birthday present for my 'best' friend of 30yrs (a cat lady)I just hope she likes it. Don't know if it belongs here on this forum but the 'white wood' bits were done on my scrollsaw
  19. In the UK the stop button is mandatory for 'Health + Safety' although I think a lot of people bypass it for a footswitch. It's all I've ever known so it doesn't bother me. I have been told that the Axminster Trade Series saws are very much Hegner clones.
  20. He fixed the old one yesterday Ray, he filed and tinkered until everything was flush and it works like a good one. He said if I'd just had the patience to wait, I could have saved myself a fortune. However, too late for me to send my new one back. He'd have to prise it out of my hands with a crowbar, now I've got it I'm not letting it go. I told him It's worth every penny just to make me smile
  21. Well, it arrived today and I couldn't be more pleased. It runs as smooth as silk. I've cleaned the table and waxed it and dusted it off. Tony says I've been such a giddy kipper all morning that he'll be glad when I go in my shop and give him some peace . Excuse the background noise, Tony was tinkering 20200625_172033[1].mp4
  22. Welcome to the Village from here in the UK also. Enjoy, it's a great place.
  23. Tony has had a good look and the cast iron part is worn too, quite a bit he says. He is going to get new bushings for it though and he will tinker with it and if he can get it anywhere near usable he's going to have it for his workshop. Me ?? I just bought a new one and it should be here tomorrow
  24. Oooh Heck,, I've never put oil anywhere
  25. Have decided to buy the same saw again but brand new. £520. The reason being, I like this saw, it cuts beautifully, it's cast iron and solid and when new comes with a 3yr guarantee. As they say at weddings, if anyone has reason for this not to go ahead speak now or forever hold your peace.
