  1. The front looks great Les so perhaps I worry too much, but it concerned me as I've never seen it before.
  2. It does Wayne, thank you. I'll try the zero clearance tomorrow. I think the blades are Ultra reverse, but I'll check in the morning. I think I may try stack cutting too and see if that makes a difference.
  3. Yes, it is a single layer, I've yet to try stack cutting.
  4. As you all know, I bought some 1/8th (3mm) BB ply last week. I've noticed that the back layer breaks. Is this normal ? I've done a few things - tightened my blade, slowed the blade down, speeded the blade up quite high, slowed my rate of feed, worked quicker with my rate of feed. Not much seems to make a deal of difference, although slowing the rate of feed seems to work best. Never having cut anything other than ¼" ply before I'm wondering if it's something I'm doing or is it the nature of the wood. I wouldn't say I'm a raw beginner at scrolling any more but this is totally flummoxing me. Any help appreciated. This is the backside of a piece I'm working on so that you can see what I mean. Oh, and there are a LOT of fuzzies too, it's just that I took them off for the sake of the photo. I'm using a No 3 reverse blade (Niqua/FD)
  5. I'm not 'into' cars, I wouldn't know one from another, but I'd have either of them on my mantle....
  6. Beautiful, I envy you your talent.
  7. Very nicely done, I'm sure your friend will be over the moon with it. I know I would be.
  8. Beautiful. Great work !
  9. Wow, that is gorgeous. Great cutting.
  10. Oooh, is there a difference ? I thought BB plywood was BB plywood .. I hope you're right cos I got a box full I have googled it and the 'difference' is in the glue !!
  11. Unfortunately I have no idea who Freddy the Free Loader is. I cut a single piece, just because I've never cut this wood before. I used a Niqua #3 ultra reverse blade (because it's what I normally use) I'm finding that the wood seems very 'brittle' and the dust is like 'crumble' as in Apple crumble. Now because I've never cut BB before I don't know if this is normal or not. I'm planning at some point to try 'stack' cutting as it's another thing I've never done before.
  12. Do you know, for the life of me I can't remember. It's a pattern I've had hanging around the workshop
  13. Never having had the pleasure of cutting 1/8th Baltic Birch before, I bought some and this is the first thing I've ever done with it.
  14. Well, I couldn't no more wait than fly to the moon, so here is my first ever 3mm B/B cut I've put it in the 'Bragging' section too b
  15. That is the prettiest basket I've seen. Nice work !
  16. Nice work. I've never been brave enough to make a clock, so well done you !!
  17. Great work, I can see you are going to enjoy your new saw.
  18. Thanks Melanie, I've put aside some work I 'should' be doing just so that I can try it. It's 'different' that for sure, but I'm quite liking it and really looking forward to 'stack' cutting as that is also something I've never tried. Jack of all trades, master of none, that's me. !!
  19. I think over here it's 'use it or lose it'. !! All our printers are set up for A4. It's the most common size of paper that we use. You can buy it in any office suppliers by the box and it's as cheap as chips.
  20. Oh dear, I'm sorry, I honestly presumed that paper sizes were universal for printers.. I've just googled it and the size is 210mm x 297mm or 8.3 inch x 11.7 inch.
  21. They are A4 sheets.
  22. Well over the last couple of years since I started scrolling, I've heard so many people say they use 3mm BB and all I've ever had is ¼" ply. I saw a company on the internet that not only did 3mm BB but they were in England !! So I went on their website and spoke to one of their staff and they were very helpful so I thought ''what the heck'' I need a treat. They had 100 A4 sheets for sale for £40 ($52.60) and £6.95 pp,($9) That makes it 47p a sheet. (62 cents) with postage. Not sure whether that's a good deal or not but I'm as happy as Larry.
  23. Well, I couldn't wait at all so I've put aside the Tiger I was in the middle of and I've pick something relatively simple. I've chosen a 'clown'' and it's going ok up to now.
  24. I've just taken a delivery of 100 A4 sheets of 3mm Baltic Birch. It's amazing !! Now I know this isn't 'exciting' for all you that can get BB at the drop of a hat, but I've never used it before and I can't wait !! And I just had to tell someone that knows what I'm talking about as there are no scrollers near me and Tony is slightly bemused by my excitement
  25. Nice cutting, well done
