I used the 2/0 Pegas the other day. It leaves a much larger kerf (I think it's called) than I thought it would. Have you ever used the 3/0 Pegas Spiral ? just to get that sized down ?

Oh .. another funny story about one of these "outlaws" ... Johnny - I think - wrote a song about this or mentioned it in a song .. later in his career .. My Uncle was a jailer down in Mississippi - and at night - the jailer was also the cop on duty. Jails in those days - were usually pretty much empty - except for some people that liked to close down the local "watering holes". I think this was Tupelo, or Merridian Mississippi. They get a call - a naked guy singing very poorly - and picking the flowers - and if nothing else - could you please just get him to quit singing? It's keeping my animals awake. Well - Uncle didn't have to go far - he stepped outside and there was the naked guy singing his heart out .. very poorly as described - and picking the flowers that bordered the lawn leading up to the cop-shop and jail. Uncle took him in - thru him in a cell - and decided he was too naked and maybe he'd go to sleep quickly and stop that racket described as singing. When his shift reliefs got there in the morning, he proceeded to tell them they needed to get some clothes for the soul in the cells and either book him or let him go depending on his attitude when he woke up. So they all went back with him to see the peacefully sleeping naked gentleman. One copper says to the other coppers - "hell - that's that Johnny Cash guy. I went to see him play just last night." He woke up a few later and was picked up, never to visit the jail again. He did not get booked, by the way. But did pay a fine that covered the cost of the clothes he was given. You can pick flowers at the jail in Tupelo when you're naked. But - it's against the law to sing poorly in public. hahahahahaha

Great CUTS .. now .. a story about those yay-whoooo's ... I was sitting in a saloon in Juneau, Alaska - back in the late 70's .. when two of these OUTLAWS .. walked in .. they would not play for us .. and it was very late .. and everyone was having just a good enuf time .. that no one cared that they didn't play - but they bought a round for the 20 or so of us in there. One of them .. forget which - pulls out a pistol and puts 3 rounds thru the ceiling. My buddy Ron lived right upstairs .. he comes flying down - and wants to beat the crap out of whoever did that .. the 3 rounds went right between him and the TV set he was watching at the time. We all pointed towards the two OUTLAWS .. which bought Ron's drinks for the rest of the night. So - the usual nightly brawl failed to happen. When I woke up the next morning (uh - afternoon - 'cause back then bars closed at 5:30am and opened again at 6:00am ) I went out to put some fishing gear in my camper shell as I was supposed to be guiding someone fishing that day - opened the shell - and out jumps a local that had decided to sleep it off in the back of my truck. I lived about 20 miles out of town - so - he had a good ways to go to get back home. I don't think Ron woke up that day. He took full advantage of having his drinks for free that evening. But - back on track - GREAT CUTTING !!!!

If you want .. next time I'm in there .. I pass it every time I go fishing up at Lake Sonoma .. which is ON FIRE right now .. heck .. Coppola may have burned down, too, in fact .. but .. if it's standing after this is done .. I can send you a bunch of pictures of it ... I'm part of the "COPPOLA FAMILY" .. just something he did when he first opened the winery. Not really family. But - I have a card that says I am. hahahahahaha. I wonder if it's still standing. ... . hmmmmm. Napa and Sonoma Counties on fire .. over 17,000 lightening strikes hit last Friday. One even hit the Mini-Horse next door. He's in "horse heaven" now. Can see the fires from my front porch. Well .. lemme know .. I'll get ya pictures of that TUCKER.

That's some good stuff, Brenda !!!! So .. what method did you use to stick them together for the cut? I have not done a stack cut yet, either .. but would love to try it. I also have a fondness for that #3 Niqua .. my 2/0 is also Niqua. I tried the pegas, but, broke three of them just putting the white tensioner down on the pegas saw. Put the Niqua in - and - have never had that problem. So .. tape? Glue? nail? Gus

I'm in Sonoma County - California - There's one of these - the real TUCKER - at the Coppola Winery Tasting Room in Geyserville. I wish they had made more than .. what? 48 of them ? something like that. Well. Francis Ford Coppola shares his with the public. He may have had something to do with the filming of the movie, I don't know. I think I've memorized every single little mark on that car. Great work !!!

Yep - looks like a Fender Strat, at least, like the one I got .. I almost changed it to a Gibson 332 or a Fender Tele .. but the strat is a classic -

oh .. the piece I cut up for this project gave me several slices of over 8" x 10" ... And here's a link to The Sorentinos I LOVE GUITARS .. one of my favorites .. -
So - someone gave me a bed headboard made out of solid oak. Okay, thanks. Then - I have a source for WALNUT BURL, so, I just did some squaring to see what I could get out of one of the bigger pieces of it. Pretty nice stuff. So - now a friend who loves guitars like I do - is having his 64th birthday - what a perfect way to use these two woods. So - I finally got to use a blade bigger than a 2/0 - and - what a JOY !!!! I used a Pegas #3. The Oak Headboard ended up being just shy of 3/4" , and I cut the WALNUT BURL into a couple slices of 5/8". I think I could have made the backing a bit larger - but - it has about 3/16" all the way around the walnut. So, it came out fine. It's pretty darned heavy though. So - here's a picture or two of the process, and, again thanks to Steve Good for the pattern that Old Joe and I used. If anyone wants some of this walnut burl - let me know - as you can see from the pictures it's pretty thick - and - it's in various sizes. You would have to pay for the piece (which I think is DIRT CHEAP at 15 bucks a piece) and shipping. But - I don't mind boxing it up in a used amazon box and putting it in the mail for you guys. You are such great help to my new hobby.
