  1. hahahahaha .. that's pretty cooooooool .. where the heck did you get the idea for that ???? I think we should all make some and have a race !!!!!
  2. My 220VS is about 40 years old .. I just spent 50 bucks - got a new blade holder and blower tube for it and a few other incidentals. Have not put on the new blade holder yet. Need a pin pusher for that. I don't want to bang on it with a punch, though, it may be strong enough for that, don't want to chance bending anything. It was flawless before the new stuff - and - still is. Changing blades is a snap - and - the tension adjustment? Just go by the "clock" .. it's never been wrong. There's no setting for the PEGAS 2/0 MGT's though - you have to figure it out .. and .. may break a few blades doing it. But - when you get it .. just write it down and you won't break another one. Have fun .. so JEALOUS .. and band saw? I have the BIG POWERMATIC - and the same little RYOBI that you have .. those little Ryobi's, got mine almost new for 20 bucks, are great for what they are. There's a little delta on Craigslist for 20 bucks now - so - I might have another one. 1/8" - and 3/16" blades so I don't have to change. hahahahaha. I'm sooooooo OCD .. hahahahhaha .. I love tools.
  3. OH MAN .. the saw I've been looking for .. !!!! I have the 220VS and love it. I also have a new PEGAS .. the RBI is so much better. There are two of 'em .. about 500-600 miles away from me in L.A. for sale right now - but - no way to get down there just yet and get one of 'em .. One is 700 the other is 400 .. nothing wrong (so it appears) with either one of 'em .. They don't come up very often - I'll tell ya that. Good score !!!!
  4. HOLY COW .. that's fantastic !!!
  5. I still listen to him all the time .. and play several of his songs on my guitars .. he was just FUN to listen to. I was at the South Pole on an Ice Breaker when he passed. He was a lot of the music we were playing out on the "Helo Deck" on our off time. GREAT JOB ... you should post it up on his Facebook page. His widow used to run the site, not sure who does now. https://www.facebook.com/jimcroceofficial
  6. I didn't cheat and look at any of the replies .. James Taylor never looked so good .... Great job !!!!
  7. boy tough .. I think the lighter one shows .. or appears to show .. more detail .. but .. they would both look good on any of my walls !
  8. The wood is beautiful !!! The cut is ... wow .. What a great pattern !!!! What a GREAT CUT !!!
  9. YOU THINK IT TURNED OUT WELL? It turned out FANTASTIC !!!
  10. OH NO . . . my Grand daughter (HORSE CRAZY) can NEVER see this .. hahahahaha . . . it looks GREAT !!!!!
  11. Frank .. that is BEAUTIFUL .. I think Pops would love that sitting by his chair .. Thanks, Gus
  12. I think I would have too .. looking back now .. hahahahaaha .. there's plenty of room on this ..
  13. yep .. the clock just snaps out ..
  14. Kevin .. perhaps ridgback can do something .. it would be worth contacting him, anyway ..
  15. Finished this a few days ago .. was cutting with a pegas 2/0 MGT - but - it took 5 or 6 broken blades on this 3/4+" Walnut Burl before I thought "HEY DUMMIE! Use a bigger blade, there are NO little itty bitty cuts." Only broke one blade after that. I love that #1 FD. The stand is shaped like a GUITAR PICK. In Maple. Maple and walnut just look so darned good together. I used Danish Oil (natural) on the thing - then - Spar Urethane - 3 coats seperated with a bit of sanding to get that glossy glass like finish on the base. Clock from KMMKrafts .. of course. Next project ? I think Lab Head shot .. on a heart shapped back ground .. hmmmm . . need to find a good pattern of a Labs Head ..
  16. Care taking for a 93 year old amputee .. and .. a dimentia'ed 90 year old wife of his (wife's parents) .. man .. that is FULL TIME !!! I didn't realize it. I even took my scroll saw over there when we moved in back in February .. Cut out a manger scene .. and .. that was all I had time for. But .. got this one done this week for my Grand daughter for Christmas. It's cut out of an old SOLID MAPLE HEADBOARD .. with .. that BURL WALNUT I get for a base. Used a Pegas 2/0 MGT and a Flying Dutchman 2/0 - then - finished it off with a #1 FD .. Thanks the the CLOCK Kevin! (@kmmcrafts) and both you and TDP(@TDpainter) for your advise on the pattern I was drawing for it. I think it came out alright. And .. there's the pattern if anyone wants it. It was a FUN cut.
  17. Great .. I'll make a pattern of it .. and put it up here .. if ya want .. I'll work on it in the next couple of days. I found the pic on google. Just like ya said. And .. it's a free download. Just .. not a pattern.
  18. NICE ... I really like that one !!!! What is the height and length that you made it ??? GREAT WOOD ....
  19. My son LOVES it .. oh to be cool enough to get one .. hahahahaha ...
  20. Yep .. Made the SHELBY I put in the pattern catalog for one son - just bought the Shelby - and this one for the other son - just bought the Challenger. I think they will love 'em - and just like the cars themselves - will compete over which I did the better job cutting hahahahaha .. "Mine's walnut - he loves me more!" "Mine's Maple and Walnut - I'm his favorite!" hahahahahaha
  21. Those are SOOOOOO freaken cool !!!!! But .. there's a B-17 floating over your head .. careful it doesn't fall on you !!! hahahhaha Those fly over me every year .. on their way to the Santa Rosa Air Show. I'm usually on my mound when the B's come over .. I think it may be a habbit now - but - they always dip their wings when they go over me. Exciting one day - they had their escorts with them - and - one broke off and dipped down over me. Probably only 50 feet below the others, but, it was very cool. I'm about 30 miles southeast of the airport - right smack in the flight path. I've been tipping my hat and waving at them for over 20 years now. So - it must be a habit for them. hahahahaha.
  22. FINALLY DONE. Lots of stuff going on .. not able to work in the garage too much lately - and - finally got this one done. I really like the piece of burl walnut I put it on - came from that source I have here - he thinks I'm using it for firewood, I think. hahahahaha And that Maple - that used to be part of a HEADBOARD for a Queen Bed someone was giving away. Now ---- it's a clock. hahahahaha .. I love this scroll saw stuff! I used a #1 NIQUA (Flying Dutchman) - and a 2/0 Pegas on some of it. Pattern is in the library - but - I would do a few things different. The stripes on the back - very delicate - I would stop them before they get to the top of the trunk under the spoiler. And I made a few changes on the fly near the headlights and things. I think it came out ok. The pattern was made from a picture I took of my son's car.

    FANTASTIC !!!!
  24. I like that !!! Where did you get the pattern ? I have a grand daughter that might go nuts over something like that .. And .. I just scored some redwood that might be good for this one.
  25. I agree with your wife. The FOX layered is not so much funky, though, it's very nice, but the fret IS beautiful. I prefer the fret, though - the fox layers are very nice too.
