  1. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N6VKOQS/ref=dp_prsubs_1 http://www.stevedgood.com/lightart.pdf This isn't the exact link to the one that I have, mine is not available it says. But this one looks exactly like mine. I got the idea from one of Steve Goods plans. I'll try to link his plans too. I have made her a Snowman in the past and will probably make a ghost this weekend for it. I would like to maybe find an easy pattern for a Scarecrow too. With making this butterfly I learned that whatever the pattern is, it's best to make it narrow so that the light can hit it. The edge of the butterfly doesn't have much light on it. Knowing that now, I could have adjusted where I put the "base" on the pattern.
  2. Just finished this for the wife. It is sitting on top of a LED light. I made her a Snowman a few years ago for it. 1/8" acrylic sandwiched between two pieces of 1/8" BB. I used a FD UR2. It cut really smooth.

LOL, one of the most beautiful things in the world. Not my cut, but a Woman.

Thanks! I'm happy with the cut but not the frame job. That's why I stay away from them.

A cut that I has been in my "to do" pile for a while. Found the picture online a while back and made just a couple of changes. 1/4" BB with a 1/4" backer. I used an Olsen #2 reverse blade. I cut up a piece of 2"x4" for the frame. This is the first frame that I have made in over 10 years! I'm not very good at them so I tend to come up with other ideas instead of the normal frame. Burnt the frame a bit just because it's fun! Couple coats of clear. Made this one for me just to hang in the shop, gets lonely out there sometimes!
  13. Cool. My local Rockler always has some pieces of crotch Walnut. I have bought a few pieces in the past. Send me a pic of what you have, I may be interested in a piece. [email protected] Thanks, Barry
  14. Nice! Is that Walnut?
  15. Thanks everyone. I wish I could say that it was a fun cut but I had convinced myself before even starting that it wouldn't turn out very good. LOL Frank, yes as far as I know. She sent me a picture of what she wanted and Birchbark turned it into a pattern for me. Here is what she sent to me.
  16. A co-worker asked if I could make her Family's Coat of Arms. I put out a request for a pattern here and got two very nice designs. A big thanks goes out to Dutchscroller and Birchbark! I let the co-worker pick the design of her choice. This is the first scroll saw piece that I have made in the last 6 months except for a couple small Christmas ornaments, I have been spending my time making pens on my lathe. Here is the pattern and the finished piece. I used the pattern made by Birchbark, thanks Russell! I used 1/4" BB for the top piece and 1/2" BB for the backer. I used vinyl for the colors. Started off using my go to blade, Olsen #2 reverse then switched to a Flying Dutchman similar size just for the heck of it. I will take it to work today, hope she likes it!
  17. Welcome! Nice looking work. I'm from just over the border in Illinois but been living down here in Fl since '89
  18. I'm pretty sure you already answered me also... all good brother.
  19. I'm just 1 1/2 hours away, you can come up and use mine!
  20. I didn't wanna get off topic by posting pics of my bikes, BUT the title of this thread has MC in it, so here goes! One of the first cuts I made when I got back into woodworking a few years ago. I made this for a charity ride for the American Legion to help raise money to fight children cancer. This is the guy that won it in an auction, he paid $90 for it. Blue bike is a 2002 Kaw. 1500 Meanstreak Bottom bike is my 2005 Kaw VN2000. It has the 2053cc engine in it. Very powerful bike. Unfortunately it has been a garage queen the last couple of years. Ridden only 3 or 4 times per year. It has gotten so bad on the roads with everyone always on their phones it's just too dangerous anymore.
  21. Plus 1!
  22. That would be me. LOL I had to stop and rethink how I was going to keep doing this. I already have more patterns ready to spray onto the door than I have room for.
  23. Looks like you have mastered that Laser engraver. Nice!

Nice cut! I need to try spirals again.
  25. My wife made a couple last year. She has them hanging on the side of the garage,, I always seem to whack my head on one of them when walking by.
