Thanks! Gotta make a wooden saw tooth hanger for it and glue it on. The backer is too thin to screw or nail a metal saw tooth to it.

I made one of these a few months back and sold it to a guy at work. I'm making items for an upcoming market and thought that I would make another one. On this one I added a little hangover on the backer board and painted it black along with the outside edge of the front piece. Front is 1/2" BB ply, backer is 1/8" BB ply. Cut entirely with a spiral, I'm starting to get the hang of the spirals I think. I'll post a pic of the 1st one I made also, you will be able to see the difference that the black "hangover" makes. Well, after posting I realize that the second one was laying on something black when I took the pic so you can't see that there isn't a black hangover on it. I was also able to save the pattern this time and added it to my door. New one First one

My wife had one similar in her house when we were teenagers and dating. Her Dad would tell me to have her home by a certain time, we were always late.. I blamed it on the clock!

I'm sure Covid has a lot to do with it for several reasons. One being the mills were closed for a while. Another being people didn't go to work and needed something to do at home,, lots of renovations, tree houses, fences, etc. were taking place using up what was available. I also read somewhere, not sure how true it was.. about 17 years ago a beetle devastated millions of trees in Canada and the affects are being felt now. I throw my sawdust over my fence,, I'll ask my neighbor what he does with it next time I see him! -
You are welcome! That grain is awesome. I also put a saw tooth hanger on the back of mine in case the customer wants to hang it on a wall.

Looks good! I made a sign to hang outside of my shop a few years ago and also used some poly on it. It didn't last long.... this Florida sun will eat anything! I sanded it down a bit and then used some varnish and it has lasted a couple of years now.

I use coated picture hanging wire. Depending on the thickness and weight of the piece, I use a #8 screw with a 1" fender washer on it, screw them in part way on both sides, wrap some picture hanging wire around them, screw them in the rest of the way.

A Sue Mey pattern. I have made about 6 of these. This is one that has been hanging out in the shop for several months so I decided to finish it up yesterday. 1/2" Walnut and 1/8" BBP. Cut with a FD UR1 with Arm-r-seal from General Finish as the clear coat.

Thanks! I'm most proud of the straight lines. LOL The pattern had more stars, but I hate cutting stars so I reduced the amount.

Welcome from Central Florida! There is a Woodcraft in Franklin that would probably have some 1/8" Baltic Birch plywood and thinner veneers.
