  1. Cleaning up the shop a little today,, found several patterns that I forgot all about. Some of them I found were I believe made by Grandpa last year,,, maybe the year before... it's been hectic the last couple of years! He made me some word in word patterns of my hometown and my current town that I have lived in for the last 33 years along with all of the places (City and State) that my wife and I have vacationed at for the last 33 years. I planned on making them all and hanging them on the beams going around my back porch. I also found about 10 pieces of Maple that I prepped back then. So I made my hometown today. May make some more tomorrow. I started out using my favorite go to blade.. FD UR1. It didn't seem to cut very well, this Maple is 1/2" thick and hard! I switch to an Olson #3 mach speed. It seemed to cut a little better so I stuck with it but it still took just over an hour to cut. Looking at the piece now,, looks like it may be Curly Maple. It still needs a finish and a hanger installed. I also included a pic of the porch where I will hang them. It is kinda out of the weather but I'll prob use a marine spar finish on them to help protect them.
  2. Is that Maple? How thick is the wood? Very nice job!
  3. Nice, is it segmented or is the paint making shadow lines?
  4. Nice looking clocks! I've had two Boxers, one with the ears cropped and one with the ears natural,, I like the natural a little better. Can't wait until I retire to get another Boxer.
  5. I keep my blades in a tube,, I also keep them partially wrapped in the wire. When I need to change to a different blade I put the previous blade back in the tube separate from the wrapped blades. This way I know that the single blade is used. Sometimes a used blade is what is needed.

  7. Thanks!
  8. Thank you sir!
  9. Nice work! I have a pattern that Steve Good made for me last year after Tampa won the SuperBowl. I was patiently waiting for Steve to post a pattern and he never did so I sent him an email asking if he was going to. He replied that he doesn't always make patterns for each sporting event but he included in his email a pattern for me. I have the pattern on the wood and the pilot holes drilled but that is as far as I got. If things go my way, I may be able to ask him for another SuperBowl pattern for this year! LOL Side note, I was never a Brady fan or NE fan. I never really knew how good Brady was because I never watched them unless they were playing Tampa or a few games in the playoffs. But once Brady got to Tampa,, I realized that he is pretty damn good. Like Larry Bird,, never cared for him but he was a heck of a player.
  10. Thank you sir,, much appreciated.

  15. It's an image I believe I found on Pinterest. I'll look for it. https://www.pinterest.com/pin/760193612081212308/

  17. Thank you, Ma'am!
  18. Thanks, my best one yet and I don't even get paid for this one! LOL
  19. My daughter is in a wedding next month, a girl she grew up with is getting married. My wife asked me to make one of these for her (him). I have made 7 or 8 of these in the last few years but I'm really digging the live edge's on this one. All of the others that I have made were clean cuts with no live edge. I just couldn't let myself cut this natural edge off. The bottom is Walnut and the top piece is made from Cherry. My wife cut the name's and design out on her Cricut. A couple coats of General's Arm-r-seal.
  20. Nice job! Make ya dizzy just looking at it.
  21. Very nice piece! A few months ago my neighbor was replacing his kitchen cabinets. He asked me if I wanted all of the doors, he said that they were solid oak. Well because of all the pieces you cut from Oak, I told him that I would take them. A couple of days ago I decided to cut a piece from the center of one of the doors to try a portrait,, not solid Oak! LOL To the trash they go. Oh well.
  22. A co-worker and his fiancé' recently had a baby boy together and asked if I could make something for them. He has a son from a previous relationship and she has a daughter from a previous relationship. I decided to make them a Family Tree. I showed him a few ideas and he liked them. One of the things that he requested was a little black heart on each name. He is the customer and the customer gets what they want! LOL I used 1/4" BB ply and the wife cut the names out on her Cricut. A couple coats of spray finish to top it off. Really wasn't any room for a metal hanger on the back so I gave him a Command Strip to use. He could use one of the "loops" to hang it with a small nail if he chooses to.
  23. Absolutely awesome!
  24. They caught my eye when a few people here made them a while back.
