I have cut many patterns of Steve's, more so when I first started out, not as much lately. The Army flag below was for a co-workers son that was in the Army. I am rather proud of the super straight lines that I cut on this piece... I must have been having a good day in the shop when I cut this. LOL

Very cool,, watt are you planning to do with it? I'm sure it will light up your shop if you hang it on the wall. The more I look at it, the more electrifying it is. I don't have the energy to make one of those. ...sorry, couldn't control myself!

Wishing you a fast recovery! I had back surgery in 2016 when I was 46. Those first 2 hours after waking up was torture,, even with all of the meds. After about 8 weeks I felt like I was 18 years old again. The pain came back a bit after several months but not near as bad. A couple shots here and there and a short time later all was good. Pain has come and gone several times since but not like pre-surgery. I don't make any unnecessary bends and am careful when I do bend,,, I think that we have only so many "bend-overs" in us.. I'm trying to conserve mine! I consider my back surgery a success.

We have two trees,, one in the house and the other is out on our back porch. The one outside has mostly ornaments that I have cut and a few store bought ones just because they were rustic looking ornaments that we liked. The ornaments that I have made for that tree are quick and easy ornaments. Some made from BBP, some made from Cedar, and some made from Cypress.

We get up to that area about once a year. Usually Maggie Valley area, then we mosey over to Sevierville area and usually find ourselves in PF and Gat. I am not ruling out retiring in that area.

I have been wanting to do some Intarsia, have never tried it yet. I figured that doing this in Segmentation is a good start and good practice. I actually visited JGR's shop about a year and a half ago,, words can't describe what she has hanging on her walls!

I had some Oak plugs that I made years ago.. I sliced them in half and then shaped using a sander,,, and yes,, I lost a little bit of finger skin from the sander. Next time I will use pliers to hold the little pieces! LOL I cut one out last night and actually cut out the black circles on the stomach. I'll see how it turns out, using the buttons is definitely faster though. Thanks for cutting yours and reminding me that I had printed patterns a while back to cut.

Blue is my favorite color, purple is my wife's.. I told her that if she paints this one blue, I will make another and she can paint it purple!

Many a patterns stacked up and waiting to be cut while I was remodeling my shop the last few months! This is one of them. Barb posted some of these that she recently cut and it reminded me to get busy! My wife loves snowmen items for Christmas, so my plan was to cut a few for her. I may send these out as Christmas cards this year if I can get enough made soon enough. Steve Good pattern, made from 3/4" MDF from a rotatory table that I just torn apart. Wife painted with some acrylic paint.

I've used them twice. I am not exactly sure but I think I left them natural. The Santa may have a BLO finish.

Thanks Dave. All of those spray paint cans took up a lot of space under my bench. By making that pull out rack, it created a lot of new found space.

Ray, the entire shop is 12'x22'. The main part is 12'x14', the room on the other side of the shower curtain is 12'x8'. I don't cool the smaller room, I'm not in that part as much and my little ac unit probably isn't big enough anyway.

My shop remodel is finally done! I started this in August while on one of my work vacations. Prior to the remodel I had exposed wall studs with insulation. I was using a 30 year old Craftsman rotary table as my main worktop that wasn't meant to be used as that. I had some corner shelving that I could never find anything on. I met a guy that lived a couple of miles from me that also did woodworking. He had a source for lumber that was rejects from a local mill. He was getting tongue and groove Pine and Cypress in 36" and 44" lengths, 3/4" thick x 5 1/2" wide. We become friends and he gave me a really good price on all the lumber that I needed. I decided to go with the Cypress because, well.. it's Cypress! Towards the end of my remodel he lost his source for the lumber and I had to finish up using a little bit of Pine, but it is mostly hidden by my lumber storage. I needed a miter saw station that could double as a work surface as my shop is small. It is 12' x 22'. The main part is 12'x14' with an addition that I built a few years ago of 12'x8'. In the new part I have my table saw that has a router table on it, storage and this is where I mounted my Dust Right motor/bag. This part is still a mess right now. I made the miter saw station as long as I could with the room that I have. On one end below the top I have a stationary shelf, on the other end I made a roll out cabinet that can be used as more work surface if needed. On this cart I will add some plywood wings on each side to increase that work surface if needed. I will use hinges and a support system so that the ends can be folded down when not in use to fit back under the miter saw station. I used reclaimed Cedar from fence panels that the last hurricane knocked down to make a roll out spray paint holder that I attached using drawer guides. I build some wall hanging shelves above the miter saw station for needed storage. I spent 4 hours a couple days ago cleaning up the original workbench to complete the remodel project. Threw a lot of stuff away that I have been hoarding for years. Find my very first tool pouch that I bought when I was 16 for VOTEC while I was in high school. Found my Dad's old benchtop grinder that you can turn on and stop the wheels from spinning with a pinch of your fingers. LOL,, that thing has been used hard! I still need to put a trim piece above and on one side of the doorway going into the new part of the shop and figure out what to do above the walls on the gable ends and on the ceiling. The new part of my shop is not insulated so to keep the cold air from the air conditioner kept in the main part I use a shower curtain to keep the air in. This works very good. As the part that is intended to be kept cool stays cool, the other side is hot though. I can now get back to making things that has been collecting in my "to do" list. I want to make something special as my first project in my "new" shop. I'm thinking about maybe a porch swing.
