  1. Looks like a dog. If you were intending for it to be a dog, then you succeeded! LoL Nice job, looks good.
  2. My BIL passed away 2 years ago at 68 years old on this past 25th. My sister, her husband asked me last month if I would make a box to put some of his ashes in for their son. I have never really made a "nice" box so I told her that I would come up with something. He, his son, myself,, the whole family have always been "Truck Guys". So I showed her a picture of a truck I made last year and asked her if I was able to make another one and insert some ashes in it, if it would be alright. She said yes. The body is made from Hickory and the fenders are Walnut. Several coats of Lacquer for the finish. I drilled a 1/4" hole in the bottom for the ashes and sent her a picture. She asked me where I was going to put my stamp. I had forgotten that she wanted me to stamp it.. with the hole in the center of the bottom of the truck, I didn't have room anywhere to put my stamp. So I plugged the hole for the ashes and move it towards the front of the truck. This gave me room for my stamp. I drilled the hole about 3/4" deep and filled halfway with ashes. I used my plug cutter on the remaining piece of Hickory to make a plug. I had my wife make a red heart on her Cricut to put around the plug. I think it turned out pretty nice. Now I have to make a "tire knocker" for their 19 year old grandson with some of his ashes in it for him to place in his Jeep.. in case he ever gets into a tussle,, he will have his Grandpa there to help. LOL
  3. Dakota52 started a similar thread in the "Other Woodworks" folder,, check it out for different takes on blade holders.
  4. I like them all! I like them all! Not a mis-type,, that's just how much I like them! LOL I really like that Eagle. Is the pattern still available?
  5. I like the one with the pink paint,, very nice.
  6. Thanks to everyone and all of the ideas. I ended up going with a set of Bora wheels. They work perfect. When I need to use the bandsaw, I can pull the scrollsaw out of the way. When finished, I can back it right back into place.
  7. I have this same one.. talk about being a bitch to get that case closed with everything back in it. You have to make sure that all of the attachments are in place.
  8. I made this one a couple of years ago. I bought the pattern and planned on making for my Mom for Mother's Day 2017. I didn't get around to making it for her so I thought that I would make it for her for Mother's Day 2018... I lost her a couple of weeks before Mother's Day. Shortly after she passed away I made it. It now sits in my entertainment center. The base is Leopard wood and the top part is Walnut.
  9. Genius! LOL I could see the problem with that possibly is the stock stand has one leg in the back and two on the front. I think wheels on the front two would work best but with my set-up, it's not easy to get to the back of the saw. I will play around with your idea though. I thought about the wheels that lift up when not in use allowing the stands feet to be planted on the floor but those are pricey and probably too big,, unless they come in smaller sizes. (I only remember them in one size)
  10. Very nice! I like the top one a bit better.
  11. Since my shop remodel I assembled and am using the factory Dewalt stand. It works ok but I have to move it on occasion and it probably shouldn't be dragged around like I am doing. Has anyone put wheels on the factory stand? Does the stand/saw stay in place while using it or does it move around a bit? I have recently used a couple different wheels for recent projects that had the option for wheel locks, which I purchased and they work. But those applications do not have a running saw with vibrations,, not sure how good locking wheels would work. I am trying to avoid having to build my own heavy duty stand with wheels at this point. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Barry
  12. That's a good looking saw. I noticed the wrought iron type of handles on the front and back of your table,, I used those same ones for a BBQ tray.
  13. Very cool! Your 52 years old new online friend loves it too! I see the wooden gear, but what powers it, magnets?
  14. Sounds good! You can use that Echo leave blower sitting on the floor to improve on the saw's dust blower.
  15. I would do exactly as you mentioned. I would use 1/8" BBply to temporarily attach to the top of the Cedar and then apply the pattern. Now you got two finished pieces!
  16. Did you use a spiral anywhere on it?
  17. My Dad made me one of those many years ago when I was around 10 years old.. thanks for the memories!
  18. Really nice! There are a few like this that I would like to cut. I may have to try this one.
  19. I remembered when you made yours. It got me in "gear" to make mine.. Pun intended!
  20. Not gonna tell ya what I wear while I'm scrolling! Unless you beg! LOL
  21. Thanks everyone! I actually made another since I posted this thread and have another one ready to cut, once it is done I'll post a couple pics of the 2 newest ones.
  22. I purchased a 6 pattern set last year and made the truck then. Made the coupe today... at this rate, 4 more years and I'll have all 6 completed! LOL The coupe was made with a Cedar body and some Pine fenders. I used BLO as a finish. I knew that both the Cedar and Pine would probably not look good with any kind of finish so I took the easy way out and used the BLO. Btw, the truck has a Maple body and Walnut fenders.
  23. That is a really good looking piece, well done!
  24. I have something similar. I don't wear it much because if you look away from the work on the saw, like another part of the shop,, things get a little dizzy. I use my readers and a lighted magnifier.
