    This was supposed to be a Christmas present for my neighbor and his wife for this past Christmas! I started it about 2 weeks ago and gave it to them yesterday. They loved it. He told me that before they moved in next doors 27 years ago, they used to have birds. He said at one time they used to have 16, all different types but never a Blue Macaw. The plans are from The Winfield Collection. I used just plain old 2"x10" and 1"x8" materials. My wife did all of the painting. Lots of sanding involved in this one! I used the bandsaw to cut out all of the pieces and used the scrollsaw to cut apart the beak and to re-saw the bottom part of the beak to make it thinner. I haven't used the bandsaw much for projects in the last couple of years,, but using the scrollsaw is very good practice for staying on the lines when using a bandsaw! LOL I used an old piece of cedar for the post and a dowel for the perch and a piece of 2"x8" for the base.

    Great pattern, great cut, great songwriter, terrible singer! LOL He has a couple that he does that isn't too bad, but I'm not fond of his singing. I have been wanting to do a Haggard cut for a while. I remember seeing yours quite a while back and others,, just haven't decided which one I want to cut. I will have to eventually cut a Willie for my sister,, she really likes him.

    About 250 miles North of you in Lake County is Lake Marie,, you would have found him in that area possibly a few years ago.

    I really love Eagles. Before I scrolled down to look at your cuts I knew that the Eagle would be my favorite... I was wrong! The "Young Love" cut is really really good. I may have to cut that myself. My wife's maiden name was Young.

    As I tell my wife,, Well Bigfoot doesn't believe in you either! LOL I've always had a fascination with Bigfoot. Funny story; Years ago my wife and I met our friends from Kentucky in Pigeon Forge for a few days. They pulled their Toy Hauler down and set-up in their usual campground. We stayed in their toy hauler with them. One night my wife walked out of the bathroom and paused for a millisecond and I happened to have my phone camera ready for a picture. The pose that she was in instantly reminded me of the famous Bigfoot picture as he was walking across the creek... in mid-stride. It has been a running joke every since. To being able to keep sleeping in my own bed, I will not post the pictures! LOL Btw,, my wife doesn't believe in Bigfoot.

    I wasn't a big fan of his earlier years, but I came around in the last 10 years or so. Very nice cut! I may borrow a couple of your ideas when I can get caught up out in the shop.

    There are several versions of this that can be found during a search. Pinterest has plenty to choose from. Like Ralph said, you probably won't find an actual pattern, you would have to just improvise. I have 3 or 4 saved to cut some day. Good luck.

    I wasn't of big fan in his earlier years myself. But you can't deny his talent. I've watched the Mule a few times. His hometown in the movie isn't too far from my hometown in Illinois.

    Awesome! Very cool cut. I just recently watched Bird on a wire again,, he has definitely changed in his looks over the years. Been sitting back and wondering if we will see a Toby Keith pattern from you. If you decide to make one,, or more I would definitely attempt my hand at cutting one.
