  1. My wisdom words is not let pending age deter one from buying new tools as our addiction needs to be filled even in advancing age I agree!
  2. I totally agree with you. I have made several items for people that have passed over the last few years, actually too many. But they are a nice custom piece. My boss, who I made this for actually sent me flowers a couple of months ago when a brother-in-law passed away.
  3. Thanks Les!
  4. Really nice pattern. I tried to cut it as nice as Wayne created it.
  5. Thanks! He loved it. He has been our plant manager for a little over a year now and I have yet to get a handshake from him due to Covid,, today he gave me a hug! LOL
  6. Thank you, sir. I will be giving it to him today.
  7. My boss's sister passed away last year. A few months ago I made him an over-sized heart key chain with her name on it. A few weeks ago his mother came down and saw it and loved it. He asked me if I could make something for her with her daughter's name on it. Wayne made me a pattern of something he uses for people who have passed away. I finally finished it last night. Wayne, thank you very much for the pattern! I used a FD UR1 which I had to practice with to get the hang of a regular blade again after using spirals for so long! 1/4" BB ply with 1/8" ply as the backer stained with something I found in the shop. Rattle can spray for the finish.
  8. They all look really good. Not many things go better together than Maple and Walnut.
  9. Nice patterns and very well cut! I thought that I was looking in a mirror for a minute.
  10. "Oh ya?", "well my Dad is bigger than your Dad!" I love it.
  11. It looks like UHMW.
  12. I use this one, very similar to the one new2woodwrk posted. https://www.amazon.com/Wixey-WR300-Type-Digital-Backlight/dp/B00T6YZ0K6/ref=pd_sbs_1/144-3754990-2617927?pd_rd_w=S2oLQ&pf_rd_p=c6f9e951-390f-460a-badd-ad329bcd73f1&pf_rd_r=8XQN3MQF1VM768CY8T1Y&pd_rd_r=03f07214-23c4-44a6-950a-75229137169a&pd_rd_wg=vt71N&pd_rd_i=B00T6YZ0K6&psc=1
  13. Dick, I very much appreciate your words, thank you!
  14. Thanks! My wife has about 4 books of construction paper. Each book has several shades of blues, greens, oranges, and reds. I tried every shade. The blues and oranges were considerations.
  15. Much appreciated, thank you!
  16. Thanks for the compliment.
  17. I didn't use stain,, I used a torch and went over it with a flame.
  18. I'll probably cut this one a few more times and can play around with it. I love burning ****! LOL
  19. I appreciate it!
  20. Thank ya!
  21. My addition to this Birds thread...
  22. These are Sue Mey patterns that I slightly modified. They both are about 13" wide by 10" tall. Cut from 1/8" BB ply with a 1/4" BB ply as the backer. Cut entirely with a FD spiral blade. I like the one with the black backer a bit better, it stands out a little better. I looked online for a western sunset that I could print out and use as a background but I didn't like the look of them as much as I liked the idea of them.
  23. Super nice! Great actor also.
  24. Cool looking frame.
