  1. I saw this a while back on Pinterest and just had to make it for this Halloween. It needed something else so I built a thin box for it and put in some green led lights. I could have prob moved the led's around a bit to hide them and get a better glow, but I have more sawdust to make.
  2. I was just thinking about this yesterday while using my planer. One side of the blades has a small knick in it. It's almost on the very end of the blade so I don't worry about it. I started out planing some Curly Maple and after that a piece of pine. You can really tell the difference in the hardness of the two boards.
  3. ...and my planer took another 20% off! Preparing to make some word art signs and needed to get the thickness down a bit on this board.
  4. I bought mine from Rockler. It is handy for when you have a half sheet sander or a quarter sheet sander,, which I don't use those much at all any more. But I still buy sheet sand paper for doing some hand sanding every now and then. Never have to use the hack saw blade, or scissors, or a knife or the fold and fold and fold and tear method. https://www.rockler.com/rockler-sandpaper-cutter
  5. I've been trying to save my patterns after I pull them off of the wood that I am cutting. I started painting them on the inside of my shop door. Be interesting to see once it gets full! Btw, that sandpaper cutter is one the best things I have ever bought.
  6. Nice work! I made the fish for my buddy's Dad last year. I got lazy and left off the words! Looks better with the words.
  7. Yep,, I did the same thing. I should have made the holder a little bigger to hold at least 4 more tubes.
  8. +1 on that.
  9. When I got back into woodworking about 5 years ago, I bought a new Porter Cable Scroll Saw. I made some decent stuff with it. Only reason why I stepped up to a Dewalt is because the PC started to make a noise every now and then. At the time it was $179. I know that a few others on here had a Porter Cable in the past.
  10. I saw something very similar on Pinterest and added the writing to make it more meaningful.
  11. Thanks Les. I'm on vacation next week. I plan on getting lots of shop time!
  12. Thank you Ron!
  13. Yep,, vinyl. the wife has a Cricut cutting machine. That thing is pretty neat.
  14. Thanks, I can't take credit for the design,, it's something that I saw on Pinterest.
  15. Thanks
  16. Much appreciated.
  17. The writing is vinyl cut by my wife on her Cricut machine.
  18. Thank you sir!
  19. I usually don't like making the same thing very many times but these don't take long to make. Just time in between finish coats.
  20. Thank ya Bobby!
  21. I made one of these a few weeks ago for a co-worker. Another co-worker saw it and asked that I make one for his daughter who will be getting married soon. The security guard at my job also requested one to give to his wife of 43 years. He asked for a backer on it like the one I made a few weeks ago. The one above was requested without a backer. The customer gets what they want!
  22. I also use the plastic test tubes and a homemade stand from a Maple tree that fell on my sister's house.
  23. LOL, I used to go all out for Halloween. I would actually build a little haunted house coming off of my two car garage and go out about 20'. I had a fence gate as the front door with a refrigerator door switch on it. Door opens and some lights would come on, door shuts once you are inside and the lights would go off. Lots of scary stuff inside brushing up against you. An air nozzle hooked to a compressor in the back yard scares the heck out of people when you blow air towards them.
  24. Thanks everyone! They were fun and fast to make.
  25. Just remember, compound is not hard... it's twice as hard! LOL
