Does the mineral spirits damage and tear the paper pattern? I have been trying to remove the patterns without damaging them lately to be able to reapply them to the back side of my shop door and "spray paint" them onto the door... just to be able to see some past projects every time I'm out in the shop. Lately it seems like I'm more excited about saving the pattern and applying it to the door than I am about the project itself!

Thanks Gary. The plaque is a Steve Good pattern. I came up with the easel idea. I thought that it would look better than just hanging on the wall. I could have came up with a better design for it but I promise the co-worker that I would have it done by Thursday and was running out of time.

Yep, the stand goes with it. I made an "easel" type stand years ago to hold a picture of a Boxer dog that passed away. I wanted something different for the Army plaque than just hanging it on the wall.

When I first got back into scrolling a few years ago I would use the spray glue on the pattern and attach it directly to the wood. I would use a heat gun and or goof off or oops to remove the pattern but there was always a sticky residue left behind that would have to be sanded off... that could be damaging to the cut out. So I started using the blue tape and no need to worry about the sticky residue but now it's time consuming to remove all of the tape.

Made this to give to a co-worker. His son went into the Army earlier this year. This took me much longer than I thought it would. I tried to go nice and slow,, lots of straight lines and letters, everyone knows what straight lines and letters are supposed to look like so there isn't any room for error. The wife and a few others say that it is nice but I see some things that I don't like. I stacked cut two of them so I may make another one. Another co-worker saw a picture of it when I was only half way done and wanted to buy it,, so I'll show him the finished piece and see what he says. Not sure what to ask as far as price.

Awesome! I'm a huge Hag fan. I just saw two of his sons in concert last Friday. It was the second time I have seen them in the last couple of years. Any chance that you can send a link to the pattern?

Thanks for suggesting it though as it may benefit someone reading this.. I learned it the hard way by running rough cut on a set of brand new blades.. they didn't last too long Another good idea if you already haven't got one,, is to get a metal detector and use on the wood prior to planing it. Harbor Freight has two different ones. I bought the smaller one and it works pretty good for me. So I'm not sure when and how I got the nick in my blades.

I have the Dewalt DW734 so I know that it has 3 blades and that they are reversible. I haven't yet attempted it, but I have a feeling that it will be a pain in the behind to remove, sharpen and replace.

Another entry from me... not safe for work,, scroll down to see. The Alien Used some Poplar that had a greenish tint to it. Then added some LED lights.

I saw this a while back on Pinterest and just had to make it for this Halloween. It needed something else so I built a thin box for it and put in some green led lights. I could have prob moved the led's around a bit to hide them and get a better glow, but I have more sawdust to make.

I was just thinking about this yesterday while using my planer. One side of the blades has a small knick in it. It's almost on the very end of the blade so I don't worry about it. I started out planing some Curly Maple and after that a piece of pine. You can really tell the difference in the hardness of the two boards.

...and my planer took another 20% off! Preparing to make some word art signs and needed to get the thickness down a bit on this board.

I bought mine from Rockler. It is handy for when you have a half sheet sander or a quarter sheet sander,, which I don't use those much at all any more. But I still buy sheet sand paper for doing some hand sanding every now and then. Never have to use the hack saw blade, or scissors, or a knife or the fold and fold and fold and tear method. https://www.rockler.com/rockler-sandpaper-cutter

I've been trying to save my patterns after I pull them off of the wood that I am cutting. I started painting them on the inside of my shop door. Be interesting to see once it gets full! Btw, that sandpaper cutter is one the best things I have ever bought.

Nice work! I made the fish for my buddy's Dad last year. I got lazy and left off the words! Looks better with the words.

Yep,, I did the same thing. I should have made the holder a little bigger to hold at least 4 more tubes.
