  1. Made my first puzzle today. It is a Steve Good pattern. I also tried for the first time a size 2/0 blade. I tried it on a test piece of 2 pieces of 1/8" BB first. I could't control the blade at all. I tried more tension, less tension, faster speed setting, slower speed setting. Nothing helped. I went to a number 1 and had no problems. Made it for the wife,, couldn't wait until V-Day,, already gave it to her. LOL
  2. Maybe the iconic pose of Marilyn Monroe trying to hold her dress down?
  3. Wow! Super nice.
  4. My wife does some sewing and other crafts and I recently made her a craft area. I am gonna let her decide the finish on it. I was also able to save the cut out pattern when I was done cutting. Maybe I can use it as a spray paint pattern.
  5. I was using empty peanut butter jars. Now that I think about it, that may be an overkill! I have had one full with red oak sawdust and shaving from the planer for a couple of years now, along with another jar full of Walnut,, guess how much I have used out of them. Not even a test tube amount! Good idea.
  6. If you had to guess, how long did it take you to cut?
  7. Very nice! I was going to order that plan a few days ago. I think it is 333 cuts? That's a lot of blade changing!
  8. Very cool! I'm with Scrappile,, do you have a link to the pattern? Thanks!
  9. I was asked to make a couple items for a co worker friend. She is buying them for her husband. One doesn't have anything to do with the scrollsaw, the other is one of the first couple of things I made on the new Dewalt.
  10. Wife painted up the dog leash holder. I guess it looks ok I just prefer wood to look like wood. Daughter liked it, that is what is important.
  11. Ah,, now I understand you. It is a cool pattern.
  12. Can't help you with your question,, but when I print out a pattern I always print out a second one and write "Master" on it. That way I always have one.
  13. Well up until you bought the Delta, I thought we could have been twins. My first scroll saw was the same Craftsman. Just sold it to a guy at work last week for $20. Worked great. My second saw,,, same as your P. Cable. But mine still works,, and the new one is the Dewalt.

Very sorry for your loss. I know that it was hard to cut that out. But you did a super job on it.
  15. Thanks Les! I like old saws too. I have seen patterns of the old two man saws that I wouldn't mind trying to make one day. I've also seen real saws with scenes cut in the metal blade, I'm just not a metal worker though.
  16. Thanks everyone. I've had the pattern for a while and decided it was time to give it a go.
  17. Made my daughter a pet leash holder for her dogs. I managed to grab a pic before the wife does the unthinkable to it and paints it! LOL The pegs may look big, that's because they are! Needed the next size smaller but Hobby Lobby was out. Dang blue tape pulled off the top layer of wood near the tail end. Paint will cover it up.
  18. I guess this qualifies as a first project of 2019 also. 3/8" Cedar
  19. Looks good! I have made 2 of those in the last few years, one for my wife that has birthdays and anniversaries on it. The birthdays have round shapes and the anniversaries have hearts. Made one for my Mom a few years ago also. I didn't have any scroll work on mine like you have. I'm closing this thread fast so the wife doesn't see it! I know that she will want another one.
  20. Very nice! I really like that.
  21. Ah, I must have read past the part where it was mentioned that it was a Steve Good video,, thanks!
  22. If you have the link handy I would like to see it. I'm like Les, not very good on learning the software, but I will give it a try. Is Inkscape a free download?
  23. The factory stand and light came with the saw from Grizzly, I just don't have room for the stand. I have the saw clamped down with 3 clamps, it should be just as sturdy the way I have it as it would be with the stand. I have had that 3 sided Craftsman table for prob 25 years. I do like it,, I only have tools mounted on 2 sides so that I can use the 3rd side for a worktop. Only bad thing about it is that if you are working on something you have to clear it off the table before you can spin it to another tool.
  24. Downloaded a picture of a Chicago Bears Logo the other day and thought that I would try to cut it out. It wasn't a scroll saw pattern so I knew that I would have to make changes. It came out ok, but lots of head scratching prior to cutting it out. I also used Pegasus blades for the first time on this piece. The wood was 1/8" BB. I used a #1 blade, not sure what type. I ordered a sample pack from them. My first thoughts,, I don't like the blade. It's too aggressive to me. I turned the saw's speed way down and still did't like it. Maybe if I had stacked 2 pieces of wood it may have been better, but I think I will stay will Olsen for now. It also left more fuzzies on the back than what I get from the Olsen's.
  25. I received my new Dewalt about a 3 weeks ago and finally set it up today. The wife told me to open it several days ago, figured that I would wait until Christmas. My daughter got me a lighted magnifier for Christmas, so I set them both up this morning. Out of the box set up was fairly simple but trying to get the blade in brought out some cuss words and some bloody knuckles. Not sure what part of the saw cut my knuckle, Saw 1 Me 0. Finally got the blade in both the top and bottom and not to be beat by the saw, took it back out to see if I could do it again. LOL I was planning on trying to remove the blade from the bottom on this saw as apposed to removing the top of the blade like I have done on my Porter Cable. But I will have to get used to it more before going that route. For now I will stick with removing the top of the blade for interior cuts. I looked around for something to cut out for my first cut and saw some Christmas gift tag pattern laying on the bench. Saw is pretty smooth until about 80%. I was cutting some 3/8" cedar with a #2 Olsen reverse cut so I had the speed around 1/2 maybe. Cut pretty good I thought. Here is a pic of the new set up.
