  1. I just added a small magnet to the bottom of the hole for the pin, then drilled 1/16 holes in the end of the pin and pressed in a short length of steel rod. The pin is now held in place by the magnet. The goal is to have a rod with a magnet in the end (a magic wands) required to be able to remove the pin.
  2. My latest; a small heart box. the lid has a sliding dovetail joint holding it to the box and a heart shaped pin keeping the lid from sliding by itself.
  3. Good luck on the surgery. ".
  4. The biggest clue for carpal tunnel is that it only affects the thumb, index finger and middle finger. It does not affect the two outside fingers (these nerves don't pass though the carpal tunnel) I was diagnosed 30 yrs ago, never had surgery, stopped doing the things that annoyed it (lots of hammering, extended periods of touch typing), scrolling doesn't seem to bother me much (your mileage may very).
  5. No family there, but I am thinking of retiring there. I plan to go for a visit in '19, in late July to see if I can still take the heat. I'll visit with you closer to that time to see if we can work something out.
  6. Where in AZ? I was born and raised in Ajo.
  7. This is a fretwork basket that I make, 1/4 cherry with bamboo toothpicks for the pins. My addition to the pattern was to extend the tenons and pin them with toothpicks (trimmed to length). There is no glue holding this together.
  8. New to this site. I've been scrolling since 1985 off and on, I like fretwork (the more detailed the better). Started with a Craftsman knock off of a Dremel 13" throat with 3 inch pinned blades (three styles) Currently using a Delta two speed; hoping to upgrade to a Hegner in 2019.
